My feet sweat in summer but I have shoes that look terrible with socks/hose in summer so...
Peds always either show or slide down constantly and bunch up causing more trouble than they are worth for me. I use cornstarch baby powder in closed shoes and this for sandals to keep them from rubbing and causing blisters:

I might try the spray, but DH uses it and I swear there is a tiny mushroom cloud going up each time he does. Maybe it would be worth it though since I leave tiny powder trails if I take off my shoes.

I hate socks and wear shoes without socks WHENEVER I can. Of course, I live in Chicago so that means for most of the year, I have to wear socks.

I'm going to have to learn to wear dress shoes without socks, but I am very blister-prone, so it's hard for me to rationalize it.

Which is why I was usually the one wearing peep-toe pumps with hose.

HOWEVER, I've found that Avon's FootWorks foot powder helps with the sweats and they've been making these ped-type things for ballet flats that helped with the blisters 'til I broke the darn things in.

Sneakers, on the other hand, I would NEVER stick my bare foot into. It skeeves me out too much.

Baby powder in shoes works too.

I've tried the baby powder/cornstarch thing. And it works really well on low "moisture" days. But if it's the middle of summer and I go for a walk or something......it makes a paste in my shoes .

You ppl with non sweaty feet - I am so jealous!!!

I wear those little footie socks that just cover the same area as a ballet slipper so it looks like no sock but is more comfy.

That's why, if I use powder, I apply it directly to the foot, usually with a kabuki brush dedicated to the purpose. (I use a leftover ceramic pot from a burned-out candle to hold the powder.)

Speaking of which, I really need to get a couple of new kabuki brushes.
