    Default Non-stinging bug bite remedy?

Do you have any tried and true ones? My DDs claim whatever I used in the past stung. One has a few bites and is begging for something to take away the itch. Is pink calamine lotion (the only thing I DON'T have)the only thing that doesn't sting?

DD has been happy with Benadryl cream. She tried After Bite yesterday and that started hurting immediately.

I've recently started using pure lavender essential oil (specifically doterra brand) and it has worked really well with any skin related issues, bugs, boo boos, rash, sunburn, etc.. Love it and you can use it neat (non-diluted). I carry my favorite essential oils in on a keychain and find it extremely handy to use as needed. The lavender one has been used the most! It doesn't sting, it's healing properties are wonderful, it's not a chemical and it smells so nice. My kids ask for it if they get any skin bites/rashes/booboos.

I'm not sure it's what one is supposed to use, but I use Cortaid on really itchy bites.

My kids complain all the time that anything sprayable to relive bug bites stings.

So we use ice. It's not always a practical and lasting solution though. But it does relieve the itching. I have found that direct application is better albeit messier.

We also use Calamine Clear or whatever the equivalent drug store brand is. The kids approve of that one as well.

I just saw this and have the activated charcoal on my shopping list. I'd like to try it! Has anyone else tried this and did it work?
