View Full Version : Yet another petty DH issue...
I just don't understand why DH refuses to give medicine to DD or DS. DD is on antibiotics for a recurrent sinus infection. Plus she is taking a nasal steriod. DH refuses to give either to her. I forced him to giver her the antibiotic tonight. DS is also on the nasal steriod and DH refuses to give that to him. He said he just doesn't like to give meds to the kids--WTF???? Not that he doesn't like to have the kids take meds, but that he just doesn't like to be the one to administer them. Plus, I so do not understand why DH cannot put clean clothes away. Today he helped me fold the clothes while I cooked dinner. He announced that he was not putting them away though. WHY NOT!!!!!!! OYE!!!!!!

I know that my dh is very paranoid when he has had to measure out meds to give the kids. He reads the labels a billion times, checks the level in the measuring cup, shows me the measuring cup, etc. Sometimes if he's around when I give the med, he asks "Are you sure you gave the right amount?" Could he be nervous as in unsure of himself?

I actually prefer that my dh NOT give medicine to the kids. It's much easier with one person "in charge" that way you're sure if a dose was given and when. It's tough enough trying to ensure that dd doesn't get a double dose of vitamins let alone medicine. (But he will if necessary.)
I am nervous about giving meds - - I have done it but if DH is home I ask him to do it. The laundry though, no excuses! I would not be putting away DH's clothes after a comment like that - - he would be finding them in a stack on his pillow for weeks to come, if I even laundered them!

I just had to respond. I am a pharmacist and DH is a physician. And he still asks me to tell him how much medicine to give DS! Come on, he went to school and learned the doses also.
You lucky your DH folds his laundry. I will wash DH laundry if it is in the hamper (usually in piles on the floor) Then I will fold it and put it back in the hamper. It is his responsibility to put it away. His laundry has now been in the hallway for 5 days and counting. Guess he hasn't run out of underwear yet!

My DH has enough underwear for THREE weeks, and enough clothes as well. He started doing that at college, so he didn't have to wash very often. He does the washing, puts the load on, then I put it in the dryer during the day and we both fold. He wasn't doing the laundry because he had enough clothes. I was down to my last pair of granny panties, and when I told him, he said I should buy more underwear like him...NO, do the laundry!
