I need suggestions!
The last week or so, my 10-month old has decided she doesn't want to consume anything but milk (formula) -- and occasionally crackers....She use to be a good eater, but has recently started pushing anything away that I try to feed her or that I put on her tray for her to eat...all baby food, and any vegetable, fruit, cheese, oatmeal....I am not sure what to do because she wiggles, flails, screams and cries when I try to feed her anything but milk.
She WILL eat bread and/or crackers, but these doesn't seem like the best solid foods for her day-after-day nutrionally, however, I give in and let her have them because I think she needs some kind of solid in her diet -- she's been drinking 10 ounces of milk or more at a time....Is there a milkhead support group? Ha! But really...sigh...any ideas?

Hahaha.. milkhead support here! My 8 month old (I know she's not as old as yours) kind of went on a baby food strike and only wanted to feed herself. I went with her lead but then she started pooping like a monster at NIGHT so I stopped the finger foods and cut back the baby food significantly. I focused on nursing for the last 2-3 days and she is doing MUCH better--not as fussy at night and sleeping sooo much better.

Maybe focus on milk for 2 days or so, give vitamins, and maybe she'll be up to it again. It might just be a phase. Ours ended up being so. I'm giving her baby food and she's fine with it. This time, I don't give her as much as I used to and kind of "limit" her.

Breastmilk or formula alone, with no solids, is fine nutritionally until 1 year-ish. I'd give it a break for a week and then restart with no pressure in a bit.

How much milk does your doctor say she should be drinking in a day? I want to think there is a recommended amt. and more than that makes them not want solids. Is it 24 oz/day at that point??

Thanks for the ideas!
We just had an appt a few weeks ago and my doc didn't mention a limit but that she seemed okay -- although that was before the food strike.
However, she ate more than usual for my husband tonight, so I think the suggestions to lay off worrying about it for a few days might be the ticket...I don't want this to become a future therapy session...ha!
But, if that doesn't work...I may be posting again about my little milkhead!
