I'm contemplating using an iPod for ceremony and reception music. Any suggestions on determining who will operate the iPod and who will announce the first dance, cake cutting, etc???

Hi,

Congratulations!

My fiancee and I faced the same challenge.
We didn't want a band because of our budget and space.
A DJ just seemed cheesy for our wedding.

We both love music and have our iPods loaded with tunes that actually represent memories dear to both of us.

We're sending out emails to our wedding party asking for "requests", while building great playlists and iMix's in iTunes.

I started seaching for "iPod Weddings" and noticed quite a large trend of other couples like ourselves, wanting to try something unique AND have control over our music.

The common denominator with the iPod wedding's is renting a sound system to play the iPod loud enough for your guests.

Being a musician and sound engineer myself, I put together a simple, super easy-to-use sound system with a built in iPod dock, laptop hook-up, CD player and a wireless mic for the toasts AND ceremony.

We are having one of the groomsman keep an eye and ear on the system.
In addition, he will also help MC.

I thought the sound system I put together was a real problem solver so I thought I would offer the same system for rent to other couples like us!

Scroll down to the bottom of the site for a bunch of great links with "How To" tips for creating great iPod wedding playlists, mix CD tips, and more great ways to save some cash.

Hope this helps you and congrats again!
