Hi, I have an organza wedding gown that I wish to sell. It needs a light cleaning. Shops are charging around $100 to clean the gown (cleaning it only, not preserving it in a box). Is that reasonable? Is there a cheaper place in the DC area?

I recently looked into cleaning a gown in this area as well, and was given prices that ranged from $120-$175. Instead of paying a cleaner, I went to Walmart and found a product called Dryel, a home dry-cleaning packet, and used their stain removal liquid and pads. The gown was previously covered in wine, makeup, and huge black marks, either oil or dirt, (I bought it from eBay!), and after one use all has come out! I would try this first if possible. Good luck!
