Hi Ladies!

I would just like everyone out there to be warned about Norridge Jewelers in Norridge, IL.

I have never in my life encountered such an unprofessional company!!

To make my very long story short, this is a brief rundown of what I had to deal with: I took my mother's original engagement ring setting in to have them remove two baguettes to have made into my wedding band.

They did such a horrible job on the ring that I refused to pay for it and I had to use one of my costume jewelry rings for my wedding. Then after the wedding when I went to get my mother's baguettes and setting back, they told me (after 3 weeks of not returning my phone calls) that they scrapped my mother's ring!!!!! They offered absolutely no apology and they acted like they could not care less! Now, my mother did have her center stone put into a new setting, but she still wanted the ring back and I did make that clear when I brought the ring in originally. My father is dying and my mother holds everything he gave her very close to her heart.

I contacted my lawyer immediately and he suggested I try to sit down with the owner to see if they would compensate me in some way and I did and the owner agreed to an appointment, but still offered no apology!

A couple of days later I received a call from the office saying that miraculously they found the ring (more like they bought it back from whoever they sold it to for cash). I went into the store to pick up the items and they actually had nerve to charge me $50 for labor!! I very politely told the woman at the counter that I was not going to pay. The owner of the store came up to me, snatched the ring out of my hand, put it into a plastic bag and then, in a very loud voice and in front of other customers, told me to get the hell out of his store and never come back!!!!!

Please please please warn anyone considering doing business with this company!!

I agree - AVOID this jeweler. I just went in to ask them to put a ring guard on my engagment ring. They seemed to be annoyed that I even came in the store. They informed me rudely that I would be ebtter off jsut having the ring resized bc a ring guard would only last so long. I told them it was my fiancees mother's ring and for now I just wanted it to fit me, ntohing permanent. He again told me I should just have it sized. I asked him jsut to put the ring guard on. After 10 minutes he came out and told me - sorry we ran out of ring guards in that size. HELLO - do you not see that I am a potential future customer for my wedding bands. I will never go back to this store.
