Seeing as this is the first thread, I kinda doubt I'll get a response. But, just in case:
Anyone got a photographer to recommend on Oahu? Digital photography prefered, expense is an issue.

Thanks,
Pullet

Hi,
Thanks for starting the thread! Maybe more will come now! Anyway, I live on Kauai, and am planning my own wedding, so I can't say from experience, but I'll tell you what I know:
1) Try looking in the following magazines(if you haven't already): "Pacific Rim Weddings", "Hawaii Weddings and Honeymoon Planner", "Hawaii Bride & Grrom", and "Hawaii Bridal Expo, the magazine". They have tons of ads.
2) I know that you mentioned that expense is an issue, but my friend hired Christaan Phleger and Lexi Mackenzie (I think they're a husband-wife team) to do their wedding, and I have never seen better photos in my life. Good photos REALLY make a difference. They were pricey, but part of that was because they had to travel to Kauai (they're based on Oahu). If you like the photojournalism style, they are incredible. Their website is www.christiaanphleger.com.
That's about all I can recommend for now. Good luck hunting!

Hi,
Try David Murphy or Charles Fasi, but hurry because they go fast! I wish I could get them but I found out about them to late, I heard nothing but good things about them

I would definitely go with Christiaan and Lexi Phleger. They did our engagement and wedding photos and they are the absolute best! We are planning to use them for family photos as well.
They are so personable and easy to work with and they produce the most breathtaking, hand developed black and white as well as color prints. They capture the beauty and the feeling of the moment rather than just take the same ordinary shots most photographers do. Once you see their work, you won't be satisfied with any one else. I think the packages start at about $2500-$3000 which is totally worth the gorgeous photos you'll have of your wedding. Check out their website for samples of their work.
I know everyone usually has a budget, but pictures of your wedding day really are the only thing that you can really keep to cherish through the years. I've been married for a few years now but everytime I look at one of our framed pictures or one of our beautiful koa albums, I get to experience the beauty of the day all over again...Their pieces are truly individual works of art, timelessly elegant photos that are just astonishing. Plus you get two photographers perspectives and two to catch all of the shots that just one might miss.
Hope you find the right photographer for you! :)
