Anyone have any suggestions for a wedding reception location in the Denver metro that won't completely ruin my budget? Anyone have any thoughts on a more non-traditional locale, such as park, restaurant? I am looking for something that is either in the foothills or in town with a garden with an outdoor/indoor spot.

I am having my wedding and reception at Boettcher Mansion in Golden. If you do it Monday-Thursday, it is about 1/3 of the price of Saturday. They have many different rates depending on when you want to get married.

Evergreen has a few nice places. Meadows at Marshdale is a cute red barn that holds 125 max. There is the Evergreen Memorial Park which is another barn. Both these places are comprable in price. A bit more expensive is the Evergreen Lake House (WONDERFUL surroundings).

I think the cheapest and nicest locations for receptions are at a person's home with a large backyard. All you have to do is get tables and chairs delivered. For our reception, we're holding it at my fiance's parents' house. My dad works for a hotel and is going to be able to get free tables and chairs.

Use your resources, and you can probably find a lot of cheap or free help. Maybe you know someone who's in a band who can play cheaply for you! Ask around.

we are having our wedding and reception at Fossil Trace Golf Club in Golden. In the off season it is only 600 to rent the ballroom for any night /day of the week. I guess it depends on when your date is. The place is beautful right between lookout mtn and the table tops of Golden. they do their own catering, too which is very reasonable.
