How to have a friend perform wedding

I live in Ventura County and am trying to get any and all info on being able to have my best friend become legal to officiate my wedding ceremony. We are looking at either getting him ordaned or if thier is a way to get him certified to do it for a single specific day. Thanks!

Not sure if this is too late for your wedding, but just in case: my fiance officiated his brother's wedding and it was pretty easy. You just find a Registrar's office in the county, make an appointment,fill out some paperwork, and get sworn in to officiate for that one day only. I think it's pretty cheap- much cheaper than hiring someone else to do it.
