View Full Version : Hob Nobs
I bought a package of these at Cost Plus the other day. OMG! Now I finally understand why Bridget Jones would write about eating an entire packet in one sitting. They are soooo good! Too bad they are $4 a package and I've only seen them at Cost Plus.

yay! i looked there a few years ago for hob nobs but couldn't find them. i've only found them at a little british import store. i had better look again.
i thought i discovered them... in zimbabwe. turns out they're not really from zimbabwe:) but they are great dipped in rooibos tea. it's from south africa and is getting lots of press lately. it's being called red tea and has all the antioxidants of green tea but is herbal and tastes really yummy. especially with a little sugar to bring out the taste. the locals also add lemon juice and/or milk.
i digress, any way, it may be time to start a thread on great costplus buys:)

Cost Plus has them? Are they the plain or chocolate topped ones? Or both? Oh man, these were my total downfall when I did a semester in London. One packet - no problem. I haven't been to Cost Plus in a while; maybe it's time for a trip...

Cost Plus is called something else these days (and has been for a few years now) but I think the PP's are like me and can never remember the new name. It used to be called Cost Plus Imports but now it's something different with world and/or market in the name. Huge help I am, sorry.

I think the new one in Richmond (Short Pump area) is called World Market.

Caroline, welcome to the Hob Nob world...it is a sunny place :) Our local Jewel (grocery chain in the Midwest) also carries a British section. It is usually to be found on an end cap. You can also buy caramel chocolate digestives, as well as many other tastes from home. Not cheap, but cheaper than the British import store. Painfully yummy.

aren't they wonderful??? DH made me a basket of treats for Valentine's Day when I was pregnant with DS and put those in the basket.
Just wanted to say that I've occasionally seen them at Big Lots for $1.50. Last time I went, I bought 4 packages. :D

Yummmy - Hob Nobs. Haven't had those in a while. I think my supermarket has them. I was totally addicted to those while visiting London.
Hmm. I'll have to look for them next time I go to the market.
But it has to be the chocolate dipped ones!

Just wanted to also say if you ever see them again for 1.50, post IMMEDIATELY! I have been addicted to the darn things forever and they cost a fortune. Friends ask me what they are when I talk about them. I tell them they can look, but they can't have em!
Spent several hours of a layover in London this summer cruising the airport for them, no luck. If I saw another tin of Walkers, I thought I would scream! Finally some guy gave us his Hobnob Flapjacks (from his lunch?? I didn't care!) and a new obsession was born. Thicker, nobblier than a regular biscuit, like the size of a granola bar. Heaven. Nibbled at one for hours on the plane, the other is still sitting right here by my computer. Drives my husband nuts! Anybody finds these around, I may have to fly to meet you and kiss your feet!
One nibble and you're nobbed...

Sarah,
They have all of them. I got the kind topped with milk chocolate.
It has been called Cost Plus World Market ever since I started going there. http://www.costplus.com/index.htm
