We did this for my wedding and it turned out great. Favors were one area where we really wanted to save money. Almost all of our guests came in from out of town, so we decided to make it a very "Chicago" wedding from start to end. We bought five pounds of Frango mints (made and sold only at Marshall Field's), wrapped three pieces in a tulle circle, and tied it with a thin ribbon. Very cheap and none were left at the end of the night.
I believe that Frangos are on sale right now through the end of March, I forgot the discount but it was significant on 5 pounds.
