Christy's of Marin a DBS dealer in Northern California. I have just reported her to the BBB and have her on tape admitting that she was justified in over charging me for alterations because I got my dress from Discount Bridal Service and that what I paid for the dress was at a discount so - really she could charge me whatever. I will take to her court if I have to, but in a nutshell, she has charged me almost as much as the cost of the dress. I think DBS service is great and I would recommend it to others, because I did get a good deal on the dress, but not after overpaying for the alternations...in the end I spent more. Christy's of Marin is ripping brides off by not quoting alterations in writing and instead collecting money as she goes, and in the end, brides are overcharged and don't save with DBS. I will encourage you to use DBS, but not through her. Her business practices are unfair. She is using DBS as a way to overcharge for alterations, and this is not right. In the end, I got a dress that I had to wear that was tailored poorly and I was overcharged. If she did it with me, I'm sure she has done it with others. She should be required to put quotes in writing and stick to them if she is going to continue to be a DBS dealer. She is the most dishonest person I have ever met.
P.S. I would be happy to send pictures of her sloppy alterations....they are so bad I want nothing to do with the dress, and will be donating it to charity.

You need to call DBS and report her so they will terminate her dealership. They do not stand for this type of practice. Save your dress as they may want it back and maybe you could get it replaced. Worth a shot and no harm trying. Speak to Sandy or Lenny or Nicki in that order. Please let me know what happens you can tell them I sent you. My dealership has been put on hold as I cannot afford the renewel at this time. Very expensive and time consuming trying to assist brides and give quotes and they don't order from me. Thanks, I did report her to DBS and Sandy replied back to immediately - -I was very impressed that they were so attentive to my complaint....According to Sandy, Christy's of Marin's dealership is terminated now...Not sure if Christy simply didn't renew or if she was terminated after this complaint...I learned my lesson and it's good to know that Christy can no longer do this under the DBS name. I'm glad to hear you reported her. And it's good to see you recognize it was a problem with one individual, not DBS! It does go to show how we all represent our organizations, though. I'd hate for your bad experience to tarnish your opinion of DBS.
