Inviting Co-workers??

I'm debating on whether I should invite my co-workers to my wedding next year. I like everybody I work w/, don't get me wrong, but I work 1 1/2 hrs away from my home (and where the wedding will be). So most would have to travel 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. Also, I thought maybe I'd invite only those that I'm closest to, but honestly, I have a good relationship w/ everyone in my dept (14 people) and would feel bad if I invited only a few. I'm trying to keep the wedding at about 100 people. I already have 125 invites, and my co-workers w/ their families would add on probably another 40+ people. Of course, I'm on a budget and 40+ people would push us over budget. But, at the same time, I do see these people almost everyday. Would it be rude if I didn't invite them? Does anyone have any suggestions?

It's your wedding, so you should be able to invite whom you want without guilt. However, I understand how you feel since I'm facing the same dilemma myself!

What I've decided to do is this ... I'm not inviting anyone from work because the cost will be prohibitive. I'll explain to my co-workers that we're trying to keep it small and that family obligations have already maxed us out (knowing them as I do, they'll truly understand this). After the wedding though, when I get my pictures and video back, I'm going to invite my co-workers to my house for a big pizza bash. They'll be able to see the pictures and watch the video (and I'll definitely stress NO GIFTS PLEASE!).

Another one of my co-workers did this two years ago and it was a blast. No one felt slighted or left out, and it was so cool getting to see her video and look at the pictures. Actually, it was better than being at the wedding itself because we got to spend a lot more time with her, instead of being there on the actual day and seeing her for maybe two minutes because she was too busy running around doing the "bride thing."

That's a great idea!! Thanx alot Tiffany for the advice. I feel alot better now. I'm sure my co-workers would understand if I didn't invite them, but it feels alot better hearing it from someone else.
