I bought "Bridal Bargains" and have found it very helpful in planning my wedding. I have had nothing but success following its advice and suggestions... until now. I want to make brides aware of some harassment I have received from one of the online veil companies suggested in the book: Romantic Headlines.
I visited their site and found great prices for veils! I ordered one to try out with my dress, didn't like the way it looked, so exchanged it for another style, following their return/exchange policy to the "T." I received the second veil, tried it on with my dress, didn't like the way it looked, so returned it for another exchange. Since my very first exchange, I received negative "vibes" from this company. I called the store and the man I spoke to laid a guilt trip on me for exchanging the first veil, since they had to order it for me. I resented that, because I followed the exchange policy very carefully.... I was not breaking any rules or trying to manipulate them in any way. The site says "if you purchase a product from us and it does not meet your needs, we'll gladly exchange for a similar product from our extensive collection." After my second exchange, I started recieving harassing emails, demanding to know why I was returning another veil. I explained that I just haven't found one I liked yet. I had every intention of buying from them once I found one I liked. Because of this, I cancelled the second exchange order and asked for a refund (minus their 10% re-stocking fee), refusing to do business with someone who was going to harass me for following their own policy.
If you know exactly what you're looking for, this store has great prices and the quality of the veils I received were fine. But if you're not sure of what you want and think you may want to make a return or exchange, the insulting customer service isn't worth it.
