Jazz Band in San Francisco Bay Area

We're starting to budget our wedding and would like to know how much would it cost, approximately, to hire a jazz band for our wedding reception? I don't want to be too unrealistic yet overspending on music/entertainment.

Not a complete answer to your question, but this is the best I can do.

We were going to do an ipod wedding, but then we met with a live musician/DJ and we loved him! We are hiring the Saxman (www.livemusicdj.com) for our wedding. He starts solo for $800 for 4 hrs, and $100 more for a second musician. Not sure how much more for other musicians, but he is very experienced & will ensure everything runs smoothly. He played his saxophone for us as a sample of what he can do, and we are confident he will help keep the 'schedule of events' going as well as pump up the guests!

Our wedding isn't until July 2008, but I'll post again after and let you know how it goes.


--> We worked out a bartering agreement to help reduce the cost. You may be able to do the same with someone else (i.e. Do you have computer skills? Photographer or handyman skills? etc, etc...)
