Has anyone heard of the 5th Avenue Orchestra/Band?

I normally do not do this, but I felt forced to share my experience with other brides out there looking for a band.

I made an appointment with them, but was unable to make it due to LA traffic. So, decided to call and let them know of the situation. Mary answered the phone and was very pleasant; I apologized and informed them that I will not be able to make my 4:00 p.m. appointment. She then put me on hold.

Soon after, a gentleman by the name of Jack picked up the phone. Before I could even say a word, Jack began to lecture me about punctuality as if I was a child that needed reprimanding. He said I need to “re-evaluate” my calculations on how long it takes for me to drive in LA traffic to get to their site. He then went on about himself and his “precious” time. By me not making it to the appointment, he is now “leaving work late” and will be getting home even later. He was not very pleasant, not accommodating, and very rude.

I was shocked! I never experienced such horrible customer service over the telephone. I then wanted him to be aware of his tone, how he was unprofessional and very disrespectful with me. But that only fueled the fire because after that, he then started yelling at me then hung up the phone as I tried to make a comment.

I then called back to speak to a manager or general manager. What was more appalling was, there was no one, Jack was the owner of the establishment. He was the owner! How do they get gigs with such bad service?

When I called I tried to get a word in, but Jack kept on saying how I was rude to break an appointment. As this was happening, I could not get one millimeter of a word in for my defense. He didn’t want to listen and to top it off, he was yelling on the phone.

I just want to put it out there for other brides to read and beware. This band may seem great, but customer service was less to be desired.

I just want to put it out there for other brides to read and beware. One the surface this band may seem great, but it frightens me to know that the owner treats potential customers with such lack of respect and with such larger lack of service.

WOW!

I can't believe that story, that's pretty awful of them!

You did the right thing by posting on here...the worst damage you can do to them is word of mouth about your terrible experiences with them! If you haven't already, you should post this same story on the local SOCAL Knot board! The news will spread around quickly there!!

I've heard of this 5th Ave. vendor and I've also heard they are pretty pricey! Smells like a stinky vendor to me!

I'm using Eddie Watkins and The Go Big Daddy Band, they are totally awesome. A 7-piece band with a lot of class!

They sound like a great band...I took a look at their website. How much do they charge?
Thanks,
