Hi, My husband and I are part of the Ocean Strings Quartet, in Stuart, FL. We also do trios.. For an hour of playing, we would charge $125 per player. When is your wedding? Also, what type of ceremony? Perhaps we can arrange to see if I can visit my family around the same time? They live in the Poconos, PA. Is Westchester upper state New York? Our emails are: nikita90@juno.com, bratsche17@hotmail.com We will look forward to your co-orespondence.
Thank you :-) Sincerely, Richard and Nicole Ballinger

When I was in high school I played in a string quartet made up of other similarly aged students. Granted, this was about 10 years ago, but we charged $200/hour ($50/pp). My violin teacher was responsible for forming the group and was our "manager."

Local high schools or colleges and string teachers may be a great resource for you. Wedding/requested reception music is typically not that difficult and young players in these groups can be very talented. Just choose carefully and get references.

The current quartet run by by former teacher will be playing during our cocktail hour!
