Connecticut Reception Sites

Does anyone have any ideas for nice, reasonably priced sites in CT? I am looking in the Mystic-Madison-Middletown area. Also- any places to stay away from? I am just in the beginning stages of planning and and trying to figure out if it is better to go with a restaurant/inn or to find a site and bring in a caterer (for about 175 people) Thanks!

My uncle's wedding a few years again was at the Pavillion at Crystal Lake in Middletown, but the smaller buildling, not the main one (I forget the name of it, but if you go to the site, it's on the left, closer to the road) Their catering menu looks really reasonable and I'm considering it for my own.

Their ceremony was at Gillette Castle in Old Lyme, out on the balcony around 8 AM. It didn't cost them anything, since it was early on a morning when nobody was there; but that will have changed, since they rennovated a few years ago.

Don't do Wadworth mansion; it costs a fortune just to rent the location, never mind the food, etc.!
