Although I don't have them scanned, so I can't send you a picture I will tell you what I did. I needed to make 100 invitations & programs.
I went to a scrapbook store to buy my card stock. Although it is a single color (sage) it had a small design in the paper to make it look a little more elegant. 50 sheets I divided each sheet into 2. Total cost $10.
Next I bought white vellum, once again 50 sheets. However this time I bought it at a bulk paper store. Cost $12
I printed the invitations on my computer using Microsoft Word and once I had the invitation typed out started playing with the different fonts untill I found one that I liked.
I printed my reply cards on my computer as well. Using some of the same vellum I had previously purchased. I included a simple white envelope for my guest to respond with. Which I bought at Impot Outlet for $2.00 for 25, but later found them cheaper at Michaels and with a 40% coupon it would have been even less. My large envelopes I bought at Michaels with the coupon and paid $5 for 100.
Anyway back to my invitations, once the invitation was printed and was ready to be attatched I hot glued a small silk daisy to the middle on top. I picked these up for .50 for 25 of flowerets. Bought once again at Michaels on sale.
Invitions were all made for less than $.75 each.
For my programs I bought parchamant paper as I had several things to say in my program. One ream of 500 sheets at Office Depot cost $20.
I printed my programs on my computer. I used half a sheet for each page. I went to Import Outlet and bought colored vellum (yellow & sage) 3 for $1.00. And stacked all pages together folded in half and binded the top 4 half pages with ribbon, also picked up at Import Outlet. In the middle of the ribbon on the cover I glued a small daisy (the same ones that were used on my invitations.
Total cost on each programs less than $.50 each.
And after all of my purchases I have enough parchmant paper to make my menus without having to spend anymore money !
Good-Luck, you can make your own invitations but beware they are time consuming. However on another note the money you save on the little things leads to more money you can spend on the big ones.
