Hi I am just wondering if anyone that has made their own invites could email me a picture and instructions if possible or just an idea. We are working with a semi-small budget and I just think it would be nice to make them ourselves and a little more personal! So if you have any ideas for me I would LOVE to hear from you! My email addy is www.kellyb_bride2be@yahoo.com
Thanks In Advance,
Kelly :-)

At the bottom of this page is my simple invitation:
http://www.cafewebsite.com/wedding/welcome.htm
It was simply folded in half, sealed and mailed. We had no inserts or envelopes.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'd be happy to help.

If you are looking for just a simple card, standard size, and not planning to add all the bells and whistles, printers, like Carlson Craft, still have the edge and can save you money than do-it -yourself. For example, a no-frills single card with black ink, can cost from $40 to $60 for a hundred. For a home printer, you'll spend $40 to $50 on just ink cartridges. That doesn't include the paper cost, production time, correcting mistakes, etc.
For printing invitations, use a laser printer. Lasers are meant for high volume printing. They can easily print hundreds of pages fast before the toner runs out. Inkjets are slow, run out of consumables too quickly, and can't produce high-quality text.

I'd have to agree. If you don't watch it, supplies for home/handmade invitations can quickly add up. Do a cost comparison and make sure it's worth it!
