How about having invitations where it *looks like* you spent an arm and a leg?
www.customshots.com offers photo invitations.
Before I did my invites with them, I thought the price was going to kill me. But no matter what, I wanted photo invitations, so I was going to weather any price.
I was happily surprised how incredibly inexpensive www.customshots.com is and how much Diane the proprieter throws in.
Diane offers free wording with limits only to actual space (meaning that she does not charge by line or charge for extra lines); free invite envelopes; free return address print. If you want to save money and not get reception cards but instead have a corner copy, fine. The corner copy's free. The response card can have as many lines as you want. Excellent when you want your guests to pick a menu choice right on the card. The response card envelopes are also free with your address pre-printed on them.
And how much is it finally? A 4.25 x 5.5 invite full color or black and white (no extra charge for either color or black and white) is $1.25 per invite, excluding shipping and insurance. So if you have 100 guests, your invites will cost a little more than $125. Bargain.
I was extremely happy with the results of my invites *and* thank you cards. They were a huge hit and as great keepsake! My guests put my photo invites in frames! So the photo invites can even take the place of favors if you are in a tight budget.
Good luck. If you are curious of how mine turned out, please email me at breinhardt@iname.com
