Receptioin Sites on Long Island

Has anyone had any reception experience at the Bourne Mansion in Oakdale, NY? (It was the old LaSalle Miliatry Academy.)

Or, the Snapper Inn in Oakdale?

I can't seem to settle on a place I love. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

From the kind of places you listed, I assume you are looking for a smaller, intimate place than normal. I am not sure how expensive those places are, but I would say Fox Hollow and Westbury Manor are along these lines. They are both off of Jericho Turnpike, not too far from eachother if you wanted to try to visit both places the same day.
I am having my reception at the Crest Hollow Country Club in August. Believe it or not, my Saturday afternoon party (1-6) will cost less than what these two places wanted to charge me. I originally wanted to stay away from the big catering hall places, but was disappointed when I found out that the more intimate and quiet you want your party to be, the more money it will cost you. I would also suggest you find out what each place's high season is. I got a good price per person because not only is it a Saturday afternoon, but August just happens to be the last month before their high season (September/October)
