I thought I'd share a truly beautiful place for a wedding and reception, located in St. Francisville, Louisiana (about 20 miles northeast of Baton Rouge). The place is called Hemingbough. It is a privately owned facility with a gorgeous outdoor Greek ampitheatre and a beautiful ballroom (Hemstead Hall). We will be getting married outside at the ampitheatre, and then will have the reception at Hemstead Hall. The prices are absolutely amazing for what you get! With a full buffet, a wine & beer bar for 3 hours, all linens, all set-up and service, all silver & china, and rental of the facility, it costs a little less than $50/person (that price INCLUDES tax and tip!!). The place is absolutely beautiful - breath-taking! There is a guest house on the premises where the bridal party dresses, and Hemingbough will even throw in a free suite for the bride and groom the night of the wedding! She is so very helpful, takes plenty of time with me each time I call her, and encourages me to call her no matter what my question is.
