I'm looking for any ideas anyone has about ceremony and reception sites in or near Delaware. I'm hoping to find a site with some character--something aside from the standard country club or banquet hall. Preserved mansions, restored farmhouses, museums, gardens, anything with a unique flair. Thanks!!

I don't know if these are anything like what you might be interested in, but I really loved 2 sites. In Almonesson, NJ, (not too far from DE Mem. Bridge), there's a place called Auletto's. That site has gardens, a lake, decks, etc.. In Mendenhall, PA (just across the DE/PA state line) there's the Mendenhall Inn. At the Mendenhall, the Grand Ballroom has a fairytale staircase coming down from a private loft. It also has a beautiful patio with a scenic view of the surrounding grounds.

If you are still looking for a place to get married in Delaware please let me know.
I didn't originally post the message, but I'm newly engaged and looking for possible reception sites in Delaware, although more in the Rehoboth Beach area.

try www.partyspaces.com for info in the Philadelphia area. There were a few locations in DE. MBNA country club has a great reputation.

I am looking for a unique place for a reception in Delaware. I'm currently in Dover, but anything within an hour drive would be fine. Any ideas?
