Hi everyone--
There was a thread a few months ago on the above topic. It seemed like the consensus was that the Elkridge Furnace Inn was a great place for a wedding. I plan to check it out.
Does anyone have any suggestions for the Frederick area, or PG county? I just got engaged and I think we are shooting for about 100 guests.
Many thanks!
Tara
Hi Im actually having my wedding reception at the Elkridge Furnace Inn and I can't praise them enough. With respect to other sites try the following:
Grey Rock Manson - Baltimore, Maryland (I went to a wedding at this site and the food was spectacular!!!!)
Oxon Hill Mansion - Oxon Hill Maryland (I went to a wedding there - regretfully I couldn't book the site because it is undergoing renovations, but if it is available they have a beautiful English garden for a ceremony)
Kentlands Mansion - Gaithersburg, Maryland
Morningside Inn - Frederick Maryland
Chevy Chase Woman's Club (I think that is the name - its on Connecticut Ave. right before the intersection of East West Highway)
Many of the country clubs in the area will allow outsiders to have weddings at their sites.
Hope this helps. Definitely check out the Elkridge Furnace Inn though.

I don't know the Elkridge Furnace Inn, though it looks nice. I can suggest the Antrim 1844 in Taneytown, MD. (http://www.antrim1844.com/). I have been to eight weddings there & am working on finessing our budget to book the Antrim for our wedding. They do a fantastic job, whether you are aiming for the all out "fairy tale", or a more casual laid back event. The food is fantastic, the staff is great, they can accomodate indoors our outdoors, reception only, or ceremony & reception. I can not say enough nice things about them. There are also nearby hotels for out of town guests (try the sleepinn about $70/night).
