I found a great reception site in the Reading, PA area. My fiance and I currently reside in Lansdale (just outside philadelphia) but grew up outside of Reading, PA. In any case, we are saving tons of money by having the wedding and reception further outside the Philly area by having it in Reading rather than Lansdale.
Our reception site is the Cloister at St. Joseph's. We'll be having a sit-down dinner served, including salad, chicken entree and accompaniments, etc. for only $18.95 per person INCLUDING tax and gratuity! We also get to supply our own alcohol, significantly decreasing costs. They provide a bartender to serve the alcohol and other drinks for a cost of $4 per person, but this includes the cost of all the soft drinks, coffee/tea, etc. as well as the bartending fee. I attended a wedding there this summer and was amazed by the quality of the food...it was a wonderful meal. Also, whenever I speak with vendors and they ask about my reception site, they all speak very very highly of the chef and the cuisine. The rental of the facility is only $400 for 5 hours. They also do not charge a cake cutting fee and will serve the cake to the guests. We can bring in our own cake from an outside vendor or have the option of having them make it. We are thrilled.
