I live just outside of Philadelphia and am getting married July 10.

I've been thinking of looking into having a student in floral design school do my flowers. Has anybody else done this or are you planning on doing this? Any recommendations on students who would do a good job?

Thanks,
Jen

I will be doing this, but here in Denver, Colorado. I work at a VoTech school where we have an excellent professional floral design program. The students need to build portfolios and I need help with flowers, so I see this as a win/win situation.

I'm not sure where you are in PA, but I grew up in Doylestown, and I know that the Central Bucks VoTech school has a good program (in Warwick, north of Warminster), and I'm sure the other area vo-techs do as well. It's worth a phone call at least!

Although I am not a floral student, I am a graduate student in school counseling at The College of New Jersey just over the water from you. My friend and I are trying to start our own floral design in- house shop in NJ, but would love to make the trip to PA. By July, we will have our third even under our belt!

I would be priviledged to give you a quote for your wedding. If you are interested, please post back or email me at bestbudscreativedesigns@yahoo.com.

We have a sample wedding package on our homemade website if you are interested.

Good luck. I think it is great to give new people in the business a chance to learn, get creative, and of course, create beautiful flowers. Whether you choose us or not, that is a great idea!

Good luck.
