This is really only for those in the LA area, but it was such a good find that I still wanted to post. I don't know if Denise & Alan Fields know about this one. I tried to order dresses from netbride.com for my bridesmaids in four different states, but they said it would take 3 months. My wedding is 3 months away so this wouldn't leave them any time for alterations. The rush charge was $35 per dress and only guaranteed the dresses 2 weeks earlier. Not worth it and not in enough time.
Out of desperation, I hadn't been able to find anything off the rack at the usual places that I could stand for my BMs who are all different shapes, I headed to the garment district in Downtown Los Angeles. I looked at a number of shops on Santee street between 9th and Olympic. There is a street of women's shops that has all kinds of prom, evening and bridesmaids dresses. Many were nice but I found a perfect dress at Interlude, Inc. I was just running upstairs to see if they had any other colors for this style and I saw four women all wearing the same dress I had picked out. Another bride with the same wedding date as mine was ordering the same style of bridesmaids dresses and her BMs were there trying on sizes. She showed me the chart of different colors they make it in and told me that she bargained the woman down from $129 to $109 because she was buying more than one of the same dress.
The garment district offers designs to the public that are often sold wholesale to retailers. Bargains for the taking. The one thing is that I had to get the measurements of all my maids ahead of time. Actually I had to check back with two of them via cell-phone when I placed the order.
