Hi,
I purchased a Velesca dress that is ivory and rum pink from a discount bridal warehouse in NJ. I would be happy to give you any information you need on the dress.

I have just purchased a Velesca dress from a lady in New Jersey also...She runs a little shop. I did not purchase the one with pink but I am pretty sure I saw it there. Let me know and I will give you the info.

I have been doing some research for the last several months and wanted to share an experience I had just today.

I, too, found my "ideal" dress in a bridal magazine. I called Velesca and was informed of a store in the Baltimore area (La Bella Bridal) that is the "only authorized Velesca dealer" in the area. I called La Bella to inquire whether they had the dress. They told me that I would need a style # b/c they had several Velesca dresses and they hadn't received any recent shipments. I called Velesca back and left a message requesting the style #. To my surprise someone called back with a style #. Unfortunately, for that person she was just filling in for the manager and was unaware of their policy not to disclose style #s.

When I contacted La Bella Bridal and gave them the style # they told me that it was incorrect. They told me that Velesca's style numbers were 4 digits. Well, as it so happened, the style # I gave them was 4 digits. La Bella told me that they'd call me back. It has been two weeks and I've yet to hear from anyone. So...today, I called Velesca to inquire about other vendors. When I mentioned that I wanted to inquire about a particular style and that I had the style # of this particular dress, the manager (Delores) argued that they don't give out style #s. I told her that I disagreed and if she'd like to argue the point with me I would play back the recorded message left by a Velesca representative. I was unaware of the games and level of deceitful practices that seem to be prevalent in the bridal industry and regret getting this poor assistant in trouble. However, I think that it is prudent to share this information with you b/c if you are anything like me, I choose to deal with people who have intregrity, are honest and who maintain fair business practices.

I too am looking for a dealer in my area that sells Velesca. I know you mentioned you had a negative experience, but I would still like to try and call the designer. How did you even find a phone number for Velesca? Thanks so much!

Again, please be very careful ordering from a designer who has no phone number that can be found. I too tried to look it up on the web, but too found no phone number for Velesca.

Designers/manufacturers are famous for blaming criminal activity on local retailers but we all know that the crime of bridal dress fraud would not continue for 30+ years if all parties were not included. Like Velesca who has a secret phone # making it hard for consumers to properly view expensive products. Can anyone find Velesca's phone number?

Did you see a picture of the dress you so desperately want? Is that why you are fixed on this designer?

Vera Wang (designer) also shows couture samples (pictures) but my family found out the hard way that designers are not very helpful when it comes to stopping retail executives from defrauding the general consumers.

So be very care ordering is all I warn. Skip local retailers and get a "ready to ware" gown for less price and better quality at local department stores.

Plus if you decide not to keep the dress you may return it to the department stores but not to local bridal dress retailers who ALWAYS HAVE;

"A NO RETURN POLICY!"

Good day scammed and defrauded brides and Happy ones too.

Could you please forward the name and telephone number of the NJ warehouse. Were you happy with your purchase?

Dear Pegtho,

I am very saddened to hear of your experience and I applaud your efforts to ensure that other similar-situated brides do not encounter the headache you were subjected to.

I have decided to try to find a pattern that contains some of the features that I like about the Velesca dress I'm interested in. Alternatively, I might opt to purchase an off-the-rack dress from a department store since the quality would be superior to that of a dress from the manufacturer and also more affordable.

I do hope that after your hassles everything turned out beautifully. The world is full of predators, however, we are not powerless to protect ourselves.

Hi,

Could you please forward the shop information to me. I'd like to check it out before pursuing other options.

I don't have the telephone number handy and will have to look for it. However, their telephone number should appear on the ad itself. That is where I found it. You can also call information or do an internet search.

Good luck and please let me know what your experience was with the manufacturer and the retailer.

I have seen this line at Group USA - they don't have much on their site but have hundreds of dresses in theirt store at discount prices

Your note indicates that you "purchased a Velesca Dress from a lady in New Jersey" but your profile indicated that your are a male (gender) and I was wondering why you purchased a dress.

Just a question, not any accusations. I am trying to figure out how bridal executives operate so that I may better protect "potential" future victims of illegal, negligent, defrauding bridal dress executives nationwide.

Are you ordering for someone else or are you planning on wearing it yourself. Why would you call a local retailer if you are a retailer or are you a male consumers? I am a little confused.

I await your early response.

My daughter saw a full-page magazine ad for Velesca featuring a dress she loves (ivory with rum pink). She called the designer's number that was in the ad and got no useful information. A few web sites and stores that list Velesca have replied that they do not carry the line. Does anyone have any feedback on this designer and why we are unable to locate the line anywhere, store or online? It seems very strange that they would have an expensive ad and not be able to find the dress.

She is measuring all other dresses against this picture, and may have a hard time finding something she likes as much for her October wedding. Would appreciate any advice.
