I wanted to tell of my experience deciding on a wedding gown. I decided to check out the bargains at Ebay--the authors said a lot of great stuff could be found--were they ever right!!
I found a fabulous dress on Ebay (described as non-bridal) in white, polyester/acetate blend, and described as a floor sample: this dress could not be further from what I saw as a floor sample at many full-service bridal salons. This dress was described as eveningwear--very simple, A-line skirt with a fitted plain bodice with a scoop neckline. It's perfect for me since I am 32 years old and I feel that I am much too old for lace and junk of the kind that comes with the many "traditional" bridal attire out there. Best of all? I paid $39.95 for the dress (which included my bid of 31.00 + 8.95 shipping).
My opinion? Go by the actual description on the website--these people are absolutely fantastic with descriptions and the like--and this particular seller, whom I absolutely recommend without reservation, give absolute indications as to how this will fit, and how to take appropriate measurements. My dress fits me to a very close tee--the only thing that it needs is a minor adjustment under the arms and shortening the skirt--which will set me back $30 in alterations per my dressmaker whom I'm having alter the dress.
All in all, I have forgotten about Robert Legere and I am excited to finally have a gown I absolutely love.
Good luck to all in your search for your perfect dress.
Lucy
PS. My gown was shipped two days ago, and I received it in absolutely wonderful condition with all of its tags intact. :) Please see photo. This is exactly how I received the dress.
