I started gown shopping last week. One of the dresses I tried on and liked was by Venus. I was wondering what other brides who have worn these dresses thought of them. Quality, time to come in, etc. I'm getting married 4/28/01.
Thanks!
Carly :-)

LAST EDITED ON Jul-12-00 AT 07:06PM (Mountain)[p]I tried on a few venus gowns and found them to be simple, elegant and stylish among all the frou-frou that is out there. In fact the 2 gowns I tried could easily serve as evening gowns. They were well-priced with the other gowns and I was able to find one on DBS that was $710 at the bridal salon and $430. on the Web. Ithought the quality was nice, not fabulous, decently made

Since I'm getting married on the beach in Jamaica, I want something light, simple but elegant. I tried on 2 Venus gowns and both were beautiful! Both had elegant beading on the bodice (one had spaghetti straps, the other v-neck tank). One had a sheath satin skirt with chiffon overlay, the other had an a-line skirt with chiffon overlay. Both had semi-cathedral trains. Can you believe each gown is only $285? The quality is good and the price is unbelievable! I'm torn between the two!
I purchased a dress by Venus (Pallas Athena)through DBS. It was the exact design of a more expensive $1400 gown that I fell in love with. But I got my venus gown for only $370. You can't beat that price - it arrived early and looks great. You can also order extra length for only $40 extra. Some companies charged hundreds more. I'm definately happy with my choice. An extra plus was that my gown came with the crinolin built in wich saved me another hundred or so.
