I am considering an Ian Stuart gown and have read the review here. I was wondering if anyone has had difficulty with ordering or anything else. I was given a price of $890 for #9758, a heavily beaded, full skirt gown and was told the gloves were extra. However, the website indicates that the gloves are included. Am I getting hosed by this bridal shop? I have quote request into DBS now and am waiting to see what they come up with.

I ordered an Ian Stuart in December for my April 6 wedding. Yes, it was less than six months, but the manufacturer promised to have it shipped on March 16. It's now March 29 - and no dress. Once I found out the dress was late, I requested overnight delivery. For some reason the dress was shipped from China (????) arrived in customs in San Francisco on Monday evening and sat there until this morning. Now, its supposedly in transit to Illinois. I spoke with someone at Ian Stuart on Tuesday who said they had their best person working on it 'not just some peon'. So much for customer service and reliability. I am frantic and thoroughly disappointed and the wedding is exactly one week away.

I'm not sure if you are still checking this, but I have some good news for you. I ordered the exact same dress from DBS last year. Including shipping, it cost $625. It did include the gloves -- which I did not use, but may use in the future. I had a great experience with DBS -- the gown shipped early, they were able to change the shipping address (long story) and the gown was perfect!

I got married on April 20 of this year and my groom loved the dress.

PS -- The dress totally cinches your waist. Good taste!

what is the style number of your Ian Stuart dress? I liked the fact that it cinches at the waist.

Hi all,

I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd post and interesting story. I ordered my Ian Stuart gown from NetBride a few weeks ago and was so excited that I would have it by Jan 22 (my wedding is Oct. 03). They were so fast in responding to me and everything that I knew it was going to be great working with them.

Today I get an email from Netbride saying they can't get my gown for me. It turns out they told Ian Stuart that they would no longer carry their gowns, so Ian Stuart cancelled all open orders with them from netbride in spite.

I must admit I am very disappointed in the designer, but I do still love the dress and am going to get it through DBS.

Wow, this is crazy. My best friend ordered an Ian from a store in Dallas, then they had the same experience. It seems that the owner is some sort of a jerk and very hard to deal with. In the end my friend decided to go with another gown entirely. A week or so later another acquaintance said her Ian gown arrived damaged and another store was the culprit. I think I would avoid this designer. We were told they are a division of Sweetheart Brides and they do not make great gowns. So nothing lost, IMHO and NFT
