I see this is a very popular gown and was wondering what kind of prices you have been seeing for this style. I absolutley love this gown (also in the blue and silver and white).I would like to order it from the internet as I am in Canada and this gown is going for $1850.00.

Any suggestions?

Also, for someone who has already received the gown, is the blue very noticeable or is is just a hint of color?
On the Maggie website it doesn't look blue at all.

I would appreciate this information.

Also how long does it generally take to receive the gown.

Thanks,

Hi there. Well, do you have our book CYBERBRIDE? Or BRIDAL BARGAINS? Both have indepth sections about ordering online.

(Yes, that is how we make our living).

Sottero can take 16 weeks or longer to deliver a gown---order early!

Hi! I ordered my "Jewel" through DBS -- use the quote thing that the Fields have set up on their BridalGown.com page. I got my quotes that way, and it made life so much easier! I am paying $648 ($US) for mine, plus the shipping and rush fees. Maggie Sottero gowns are indeed slow to be made -- seems they wait until the last possible moment to make it. I ordered mine (a rush order, mind you!) in January, and I am supposed to have it by June 30th. I emailed my rep not too long ago, and she found out that the dress had just been cut this month (May). Presumably they'll have it done and to me by the promised date (or I'll have a fit!). Either way, leave yourself PLENTY of leeway if you choose to order a Maggie gown.

As I obviously havne't recieved my gown (I ordered the white/silver/blue), I can't tell you exactly how blue it is -- from what I've heard from other brides on various boards, it is just a hint of color.

Best wishes!

Thanks Donna,

That scares me a little bit-- how much was the rush fee?
They only cut it recently, wow, when is the wedding? Mine is October 27th and I would like to get it at least a month before. That gives me 4 months and 2 days.
Thanks so much for the information, it gives me some things to think about.

Hi Colette--

If i remember correctly my rush fee was 25 bucks -- a bit unusual I think, but maybe its a DBS benefit. I understand the rush fee for a Maggie gown is normally around $100 US.

My wedding is August 18, so you can see why I'm getting antsy about the gown. LOL

I wonder if its even possible to get a "Jewel" in four months... Have you talked to any of the online places yet?

Good Luck!

I will be ordering from Pearls Place on Monday. The owner from that shop is very accomodating and quick to reply to email questions. He said it would be no problem to get the gown by the end of september. He said that they have ordered 200 of these gowns from Maggie and their store is a direct source to the manufacturer. I have also researched there establishment so I think I trust them (as much as one can with their own gown anyway)LOL. OH THE STRESS!

Thanks again for replying to my message.

Have a great wedding day. It is the same day as my brothers birthday so Im sure I will think of you in my dress,LOL, actually I guess you ordered it first so I guess it's your dress.

Best wishes,

Colette

I GOT MY DRESS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

The appliques are a REALLY pale blue -- not as much beading on it as I had thought there would be. It has a built-in crinoline, but I think I will need another one anyway to make it look like it is supposed to. The train is longer than it looks in the pictures, too.

The corset top looks a little funny to me, though -- it hink its supposed to be bigger than it is. I gotta find the form and check the manufacturer's measurements, though. If I find a problem, I'll post it back here!

That's so great that you got your dress !! I was a little worried when you said that they had just cut the dress in May. So it took 5 months right? My wedding is in less than 5 months now and I am very nervous about the dress getting here on time ( especially since it will be going through customs). I dont want any grubby customs officer touching my dress.
Did you not try on the dress before it was ordered? I tried it on 3 times to make sure I had the correct size. I wasnt sure about the blue even though I had seen it in person because it was so pale. Is the bodice really too small? Im a little bit worried about that too.

Well, thanks again for writing me back. Big congratulations on getting your dress , and I hope everything goes well for you on your wedding day--I just booked my wedding/reception site yesterday. I'm very excited.

Take care,
Colette
