View Full Version : Jasmine Haute Couture
I'm intrested in a Jasmine Haute Couture dress. I tryed it on in a local shop and it's long enough for me (I'm 5'9"). I've recieved 2 quotes from the bridal quote at this site and am a little concerned that they aren't quoting the same dress because of the discrepency in delivery dates. Anyone have experience with Jasmine? If so do you know if the Collection and Haute Couture have the same time frame for delivery?
I received my Jasmine Haute Couture dress within 5 months of ordering it from Pearls Place. Showed up on time and in great shape. The dress is great, but be forewarned: I'm 5'10" and thought that the length would be fine, but I have to wear a slightly bigger heel than I planned (I tried on a 10 but got a 16).
Good luck.
Thanks for your response. I ordered mine from Pearls Place also just recently and they told me the delivery time was 12-14 weeks. The thing taht really bothered me was they said they only wanted 50% down and then the charge on my credit card was $400.00 when they quoted me $595.00 + $12.00 shipping. They explained to me they charge 50% of the retail price of the dress and yet that price was $850.00. $400.00 wasn't 50% of anything I could figure. Also the bridal salon I found the dress at told me it told 6 months to order, DBS told me 24 weeks and Pearls said 12-14 weeks. I guess I'll see when it gets here. If you can let me know anymore about your experience with Pearls and the Jasmine dress I would appreciate it ( like how long they told you it would take for delivery in particular). Thanks Bobb

I ordered a Jasmine Haute Couture dress on January 17. It is silk organza with cotton hand embroidery, scoop neck and back and buttons down the back. It was $1,400. I special ordered it without the train and I paid for a custom hem (which you have to have with that dress because of the embroidery on the bottom). My lesson is to beware of ordering really special fabric.
The dress was to arrive the last week of April. (~12 weeks) By May 5, I wanted to know where it was. Well, the last batch of fabric (silk) which apparently comes from India was ruined when it arrived at the factory in China. I could wait for the next batch or get another dress. I chose to wait until May 31. By that point, the fabric did come and it was good and they rush ordered it, it got shipped over night, etc. so I had the dress by the middle of June. I got married on July 22.
The dress looked gorgeous and fit perfectly but they messed up the hem. It wasn't straight and it wasn't the right length. Fortunately, I had a great bridal shop behind me so we got a great seamstress to fix the dress and the shop owner paid for the hemming.
Rebecca, I think we have the same dress! Great choice!
Bobb, I think Pearls told me 12-16 weeks, then when I checked at 10, they told me 16, then it showed up at 12. Whatever. My experience with Pearls is that they're utterly swamped and you knida have to get them in a good mood. However, when I did, they were extremely helpful and sweet. Saving $400 and getting a couple of busy signals and curt responses is fine by me. They also got me my bridesmaid dresses in two weeks for $78 (Jessica McClintock retail $120.)
Don't know about the deposit problem; just keep your paper trail. I honestly don't think they'd take advantage. Good luck!

>I am new to the system, sorry about the previous message.
I am about to also order a Jasmine Haute Couture dress that is made with silk organza from Pearl's Place and I would like to know if anyone has had any bad experiences with either the line of dresses (bad quality etc....) or Pearl's Place?
I am a little nervous about ordering on-line, so any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

>Congratulations. It is comforting to hear that you got your Jasmine dress. I ordered a Jasmine Haute Couture dress from Pearl's Place and was a bit nervous but it is good to hear that you had success. I should be getting my dress in January.
