How many cloth diapers will I need

I am going to try cloth diapering once my little one comes. I am probably going to use pocket diapers (either fuzzi bunz or bum genius). How many would you suggest I buy to start?
Also, any cloth diapering accessories that you guys think are necessary.

18 to 24 ( more to the 24 end) would be good. It also depends on how much you want to wash.
