Pros:
high seat, big basket, big wheels, lighter in newer models, comfact fold, great for tall people
Cons:
wheel lock is flaky and front wheel gets stuck on bigger bumps, wide wheel base, bad one-hand push
|
|
We have a 2007 Zooper Boogie. My favorite thing is the high seat. My son is at table height when we're out, although we need to use a high chair if he wants to reach the table. In addition the handle sticks out a bit which doesn't work for crowded restaurants. It folds flat for infants from newborn for naps and has nice side padding on the seat which is good when our toddler falls asleep sitting up.It's big basket is great for shopping and the big wheels handle most bumps. We've had some problems with the front wheel lock though and it locks when it shouldn't and unlocks when it should be locked which is frustrating as we hit tree roots and potholes. If the tires aren't perfectly inflated the stroller has a harder time with bumps and we have had challenges remembering to pump up the tires. The wheel base is also wide which can be tricky in small urban grocery stores. We use this as our walking stroller in the city. (it says no jogging). It's lighter than the predecessor. We live on the third floor in the city and we can carry it up the stairs when we have to, although I prefer the elevator. It folds quite compactly with the seat forward facing still attached. The seat reverses too. It's a bit thick folded with the seat on and it wouldn't make a good car stroller in our Honda Civic if I wanted to put anything else in the truck. The extendable handle is great for for both me (5'1") and dh (6'3"). It comes with every imaginable accessory including cupholder, rain cover, mosquito netting, pump for the tires, etc.We can push one handed, but it's not ideal on our brick sidewalks. There's a huge canopy that is fine for keeping sun off and light rain if we didn't bring the rain cover. The canopy has a convenient pocket for keys, etc.Overall it's a great stroller and you'd have to pay a few hundred more to get better. The wheel-lock issues are a challenge though and make it tough in a snowy, icy urban jungle at times.

Cons:

I bought my Boogie sight unseen (using the Baby Bargains recommendation) on Ebay for approx. $180. I love it. I do not have a second stroller and my son is almost 6 months old. I used it when he was in his infant seat and now use it exclusively since he can't quite sit up on his own but grew out of his Snugride. He falls asleep in it all the time when it is fully reclined. I love how I can go for walks in the neighborhood, go watch my husbands softball games, and still take it grocery shopping. The large basket holds many items. I am however looking to purchase a second stroller that is more lightweight so I can gain trunk space again, however, I may not because my Boogie has served me well. I get comments from other Mommies all the time. If I do, I am about 99% sure that my next one will be a Zopper too.

I bought a 2004 Zooper Boogie after starting out with a Snap N Go. What an upgrade! Sure, the Snap N Go is light, but the Boogie is actually easier to push because of the air tires and swivel front wheel -- I can manage it one-handed without any problems. And it looks so cool and sporty that my husband is more than willing to be seen pushing it.We got the Boogie primarily for walks with our dog (we have a Quest in the car). It's fantastic for this purpose -- we go over some uneven pavement and some grassy areas that have lots of exposed tree roots, and our baby never complains. The stroller came with a boot, raincover, bug netting, and a tire pump; it also can be set up with the baby facing either direction and the sunshade can be extended all the way forward to block the sun even when it's low and right in your baby's eyes. You can't get all of that from any other stroller in this price range (we paid around $200 on Ebay). I've heard people say that no one needs all these extras, but you do if you have to walk a dog regardless of the weather, and I've used them all (except the pump -- the tires are still going strong). The Boogie is heavy, but I never even thought about keeping it in the car; it's just not really an all-around stroller unless you are just walking everywhere. It's great for neighborhood use, so if you can afford to buy the Boogie and a lightweight for your car, do it. I get compliments on the Boogie all the time, and our little one actually kicks around in excitement when I put her in it.

Pros:
Rides well on uneven surfaces
Cons:
No trays, Folding issues and takes up entire trunk
|
|
I have to say that we have loved the boogie. We live in an older part of town with plenty of uneven sidewalks gravel back streets. The boogie does a wonderful job on all surfaces. We love the fact that this stroller came with all of the extras. The only thing missing is a tray for the little one and cup holders for the pusher. This is a feature, I'll make sure to have when we make our double stroller purchase here in the next few months. The major issue with the boogie that I've found is the size. It took up our entire mid-size sedan trunk and now with a Durango, it still takes up quite a bit of space. We've purchased a volo for our trips where an off roader isn't necessary. I really don't recommend this as a one and only stroller, as even if you are fine with the stroller taking up trunk space, this stroller is difficult to manuver in retail establishments.
