Great stroller for neighborhood walks, September 12, 2005

Pros: Smooth ride, comes with bells and whistles
Cons: Heavy

I bought a 2004 Zooper Boogie after starting out with a Snap N Go. What an upgrade! Sure, the Snap N Go is light, but the Boogie is actually easier to push because of the air tires and swivel front wheel -- I can manage it one-handed without any problems. And it looks so cool and sporty that my husband is more than willing to be seen pushing it.

We got the Boogie primarily for walks with our dog (we have a Quest in the car). It's fantastic for this purpose -- we go over some uneven pavement and some grassy areas that have lots of exposed tree roots, and our baby never complains. The stroller came with a boot, raincover, bug netting, and a tire pump; it also can be set up with the baby facing either direction and the sunshade can be extended all the way forward to block the sun even when it's low and right in your baby's eyes. You can't get all of that from any other stroller in this price range (we paid around $200 on Ebay). I've heard people say that no one needs all these extras, but you do if you have to walk a dog regardless of the weather, and I've used them all (except the pump -- the tires are still going strong).

The Boogie is heavy, but I never even thought about keeping it in the car; it's just not really an all-around stroller unless you are just walking everywhere. It's great for neighborhood use, so if you can afford to buy the Boogie and a lightweight for your car, do it. I get compliments on the Boogie all the time, and our little one actually kicks around in excitement when I put her in it.

Pros: Rides well on uneven surfaces
Cons: No trays, Folding issues and takes up entire trunk

I have to say that we have loved the boogie. We live in an older part of town with plenty of uneven sidewalks gravel back streets. The boogie does a wonderful job on all surfaces. We love the fact that this stroller came with all of the extras. The only thing missing is a tray for the little one and cup holders for the pusher. This is a feature, I'll make sure to have when we make our double stroller purchase here in the next few months.

The major issue with the boogie that I've found is the size. It took up our entire mid-size sedan trunk and now with a Durango, it still takes up quite a bit of space. We've purchased a volo for our trips where an off roader isn't necessary. I really don't recommend this as a one and only stroller, as even if you are fine with the stroller taking up trunk space, this stroller is difficult to manuver in retail establishments.

Pros: Amazing deal for all the bells & whistles and quality
Cons: Hefting it into the car

We bought our Boogie for $275 in 1/2005 when my son was 4mos old. Frankly, it was the best buy out of all the baby stuff we bought. It has been a real workhorse and has held up wonderfully. We walk everywhere in town and on hikes. My only problem is my son is 2.5 and is super tall (42"), so he's almost outgrown the Boogie. It really is very convenient, and has great accessories and other perks. I have no trouble with it's size walking around town. Frankly, I prefer my son to sit up higher and in a stroller with a bit more of a profile when we're out and about in crowds. I also like the big basket, did a lot of grocery shopping that way. My husband jogs with it and we also hike considerably, it's great on groomed trails. It is a really comfy ride, too, or so my son says. We borrowed a Maclaren once and he hated it (although I may have to get the XLR one eventually). One more thing, we are both tall, I'm 5'10" and my husband is over 6', the handle is adjustable and there are two more settings even higher than the one we use. Okay, so it's a bit cumbersome to break down and heave-ho into the back of the car. That's the only drawback. I'd buy it again in a second, I only wish they made something like it for tall/older children.

Heavy & Huge All-Terrain, August 26, 2006

Pros: Large basket, full recline, plush seat
Cons: Heavy, Large, VERY difficult to fold/open

I bought a 2005 model on closeout. I did a lot of research on all-terrains, and bought this because I liked the full-recline, plush seat, large basket, locking front wheel on the handlebar, and that i didn't need to pay more for an infant car seat adapter. I knew it was 31 lbs, but i didn't quite know how heavy that felt when pushing it uphill. It was a pain. It also doesn't steer well. I already had a BOB Sport Utility Stroller and that steered much better/smoother. The Zooper just felt heavy and cheap. I also HATED the fold. It is not intuitive at all, the directions were bad, and it took both hands and kept pinching my fingers. Because of the fold, I sold it and bought a BOB Revolution. It's WAY better constructed (in terms of quality, materials, and engineering) and much easier to fold. It steers like a dream compared to the Boogie.

If you're considering the Boogie, PLEASE try out the fold. Even if you think you'll never take it in your car, it's so nice to use an all-terrain for walks, you'll want to take it everywhere except shopping. So, the fold is important! Try the BOB and Baby Jogger City Series fold out for comparision- they are way easier!
