Pros:
HUGE basket underneath, reversible seat, very cushy
Cons:
Heavy and cumbersome to fold

I bought the Valco Rebel for many reasons, but the two features that sold me and are so far superior to what else is out there are: the absolutely enormous basket underneath the stroller, and the "hitchhiker" kiddie board add-on for an older child to ride on.First a little more on the basket: not only is it huge, but it is very easy to access, which is not the case with most similar style strollers. The seat sits higher than other all terrain strollers allowing one to reach in and out of this basket quite easily. I can imagine stowing a good $50 worth of groceries in there. The weight limit for items stored in the basket is 13 pounds. And more about the hitchiker: I like that this product is made by Valco and meant to fit their stroller versus buying a third party product and hoping for the best. I also like that it is completely and very easily detachable when not needed. All of this should be prefaced by saying that there is a ton of room between the rear wheels of the stroller and the handle bar making the "hitchhiker" a true option. So many of the other strollers I looked at would have had my daughter wedged in like a sardine or hanging on for dear life. She is not wanting to be strolled all that much any longer, so a double stroller would have been a waste for us. At 3.5 years old and 42 pounds she is too big for many of the toddler seat add-ons available (including the one made by Valco), so this kiddie board feature is really the best solution for us.Now a little more on the other wonderful bells and whistles this stroller features: * wonderful cushiony padding* 3 recline positions including full recline (unlike the Valco Runabout the recline mechanism is a metal bar that snaps securely into place --- I wasn't impressed with the Runabout's two sets of zippers on either side to achieve the same effect)* reversible seat that is a one minute operation and quite easy* this is a big one!!!: the pocket on the back of the hood - easily accessible while pushing the stroller and big enough for wallet, keys, water bottle, a diaper and wipes.* excellent steering (although I thought the Mountain Buggy that I test drove was slightly better - not enough for me to give up all the features of the Valco Rebel however) and manueverability. Easy to fix the front wheel to a non-swivel position. The one drawback is the folding down and storage in the car issue. Not super convenient, however, for me it isn't an issue as I am doing most of my strolling in town without a need to pack up the stroller.I paid $425 plus $70 for the Hitchhiker. Purchased at Magic Beans in Brookline, MA - highly recommend this store!!! for those in the Eastern Massachusetts area.

Pros:
Smooth ride, versatile
Cons:
Weight, folding size

I purchased the rebel because it could adapt to hold two children (with hitch hiker board or toddler seat) and I didn't want to deal with a double stroller. I found a great deal for a new 2005 ($350). Yes, this is expensive for a stroller. However, the quality and features of this stroller are infinately better than most lower cost brands, plus the resale value on these is excellent. Also, there is the flexibility of using this as a single or a double (with accessories). Purchasing a double and single, even at bargain rates, could cost close to $350. The stroller was relatively simple to assemble and operate, though the instructions are somewhat limited. With a few minutes of practice I had mastered turning the seat around (a wonderful feature that allows your child to face either way) and opening and closing. When we test drove the rebel at our local park, I fell in love. It drove so smoothly and pushed easily. The swivel wheel made turns simple (there is the ability to lock for jogging, though no hand brake). We rode over pavement, gravel, grass, mud, wooden boardwalk, and mulch and never got stuck or encountered a problem. I can't wait to try it out at the beach! The basket is easy to access and quite large, even with the seat fully reclined. The handle also pivots, allowing for easy adjustment for various heights. The seat is cushiony and my son enjoyed his ride. The harness held him secure and allowed ample room for growth. I've seen some reviewers remark that the seatback is low. It is compared to some strollers, but my son is almost 34 inches tall and he fit fine (I did fold back the top visor part of the seatback to give him some extra room). Plus so many of the features are adjustable (seat back, foot rest, front bar) that it makes it easy to customize.Yes, it is heavy. Very heavy. If you have to lift it often or move in and out of cars, it could be a hassle. It also folds like a jogger. Large wheels (which are easily removable) make it take up a good part of a mid-size SUV trunk. However, if you can afford the size and don't need to lift it much (or you weight lift professionally), I would rate it the "perfect" stroller! Be aware that this is a 2005 model and I've heard reports that the 2006 is going to be redesigned, so they may have addressed some of these issues.

Pros:
Great manuevering, sturdy construction, very comfortable!
Cons:
More expensive than most

This is by far the coolest stroller you can find. My husband and I searched high and low for a stroller that wasn't made of plastic. We wanted something that would hold up and could be manuevered easily. We spent a lot of time researching strollers and finally found this one. When we first found it, my husband zoomed it around the store and fell in love. (This is definately a stroller for a husband who doesn't want to push around a girly looking baby item!) We knew it was more expensive than most, but we looked into it and found that you can add on toddler seat and it is a stroller for two for only $60 more. When we need to expand, we know we can. When we first got it, the Rebel was easy to put together and even came with a pump to keep the tires inflated. Inflated tires that have a rugged tread are a huge plus. You can take this stroller anywhere! Walks are a breeze and you can go up and over curbs and bumps with little effort. Plus, the shocks help keep the baby from being too jostled.Awesome features that you can't find in other strollers of this sort include a seat that reclines in many positions and has a metal locking mechanism, not just a drawstring like other brands. Also, it has a five-point harness to keep your little one in place. The most impressive feature is the ability to have the baby face you or face out. No other hybrid I have found has this option and it is very nice when you have a newborn! Also, the handle can be adjusted so even the tallest of pushers is comfortable! The basket underneath is awesome - you can throw diaper bags, purchases, etc. under there with room to spare! At the mall, this stroller can zip in and out of aisles unlike other jogging or hybrid strollers. If you need to turn around in a small space, no problem! Plus, everyone seems to stare at it and ask where it came from. This is definately not your average, run of the mill stroller! The price is high, but you definately get what you pay for. It is also probably heavier than other strollers, but it should be. It is a much sturdier. It is easy to fold down and throw in the car. Trust me, this is the best stroller out there!
