A mixed bag...did not live up to its promise for me!, August 27, 2005

Pros: Light, Carry Strap, padded for an umbrella stroller.
Cons: Broke, middling steering, no customer support in US

We paid $109 to pre-order this product sight unseen back when it was first released in 2004. I loved the stroller for all the obvious reasons- light, carry strap, thought I was getting a super high quality product, nice padding, easy fold, sharp look.

After about 6 months of very light use I came to realize that the steering was wonky- the front wheels would stop rotating making the stroller impossible to steer. Also the handle was pulling apart at the foam a bit. I called Silver Cross to get it repaired. They insisted on seeing a sales slip before they would open a case for me. I sent them the documentation. They never followed up. In this time the bar on the fold of the stroller came off the stroller entirely rendering the stroller unusable. I contact them. They have never recieved the documentation. I fax them everything and mail it again. They want to send me a screw to fix where it is broken and not address the steering issues. I insist on a label to send it back to them for repair so they can look at the steering. When they return the stroller, they have installed the screw and not looked at the steering. Then, they closed US operations. So no more assistance. Not a pretty picture! However, my husband was able to adjust the wheels somewhat. We are able to use the stroller but it still is much less easy to push than my Mac.

Overall the stoller had a lot of promise but it just did not work out well for us. It lives as a back-up stroller since I could never sell/give someone my lemon!

Excellent, lightweight stroller great for travel and indoors, June 12, 2005

Pros: Super easy to fold and open, easy to carry, lightweight
Cons: Not great for outdoors, can be tippy when loaded with bags

The Silver Cross Micro is an excellent umbrella-fold stroller for the older baby or toddler who no longer needs a recline option. It is very lightweight (around 10-11 lbs.) and comes with an integrated carry strap. It opens and closes very easily and is self-locking. I have travelled with this stroller on several airplane trips and was able to carry the stroller while chasing my active toddler through the terminal. When he tires out, he naps well in this stroller despite the lack of recline feature. The seat is nicely padded and is very comfortable for my son to sit on. There buckle system has both shoulder and lap belt portions which is nice for my active toddler. He really enjoys riding in this stroller.

There is an ample sized mesh storage area on the back of the stroller and I can easily fit several shopping bags or my SkipHop Duo diaper bag. If I do put bags on the handles this stroller can handle a lot of shopping - but be careful when you take your child out the stroller will tip over (as to be expected with such a lightweight stroller - I just forget sometimes). The handles are very comfortable, and at a good height (not too short like many less expensive umbrella strollers). This stroller is easy to steer one handed. The wheels are small yet glide easily indoors. I have used this stroller sparingly outdoors, and while it does work outside it is best suited for indoor use.

The Silver Cross Micro does come with a snap-on sun canpoy but I have left it off and not missed it. This stroller is more expensive than many umbrella strollers but I do not regret my purchase for one minute. It was well worth the extra expense to make my travels with my son safe and enjoyable for both of us.

Sturdy, light weight, easy to use umbrella stroller, September 19, 2005

Overall Grade   10.00/10  (10)

Pros: light, padded seat, safe harness seat belt, carrying strap
Cons: tips when loaded with a bag on handle and no passenger

I looked at quality umbrella strollers forever and picked this one over the similar model Mac since the wheels were slightly larger, thus, easier to maneuver/push. We've been thrilled with it and have had no problems in the 6 mos we've used it. My husband is just over 6' and he likes that the handles are high enough for him too. The only con is that it tips with a heavy bag if there is no passenger seated but this is expected with most any lightweight stroller.

Great stroller for travel!, June 10, 2005

Pros: Very easy to use & lightweight
Cons: baby slumps a little in seat

The Micro is a great stroller for travel & is very lightweight. It has a generous basket, looks great, unfolds/folds easily, and handles well. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that our daughter slumps a little in the seat (there is no recline at all and the seat seems a bit short). For trips to the mall and for travel, though, it is well worth the money!

A must have stroller for quick trips, June 10, 2005

Pros: This is a great, light weight stroller
Cons: Could use a bigger sunshade and storage basket

I wanted an umbrella stroller for quick trips around town, to the mall or store and I wanted one that would be comfortable for my baby. I bought the Micro when they first came out and it's been worth every penny. The seat is comfortable for my daughter, not flimsy like alot of the cheaper mesh material modeal. The bigger size wheels makes the steering smooth. Love the foam grip handles. This stroller is sturdy, light and compact.

My 17 month old actually prefers this stroller over our Peg Perego P3. We went on a recent trip to Maui and took this stroller with us. It was easy to fold up through the airport lines (metal detector) and I wasn't worried about it getting ruined when we gate checked it because it's so solid.

This stroller folds one handed and I can lift in the back of my 4Runner with one hand as well.

I LOVE this stroller and recommend it to anyone looking for an umbrella stroller but want one with a little more substance. It's worth the money in my opinion
