After litterally weeks of reseach, we decided on the Peg Venezia. I "test drove" almost a dozen other strollers. All were disappointing for different reasons, mostly lacking in quality and were too heavy in weight. The Peg Venezia had ALL the features we were looking for- reversible handles, full recline (Great to change diapers in & for napping baby!), child's tray, parent cup holder, tall adjustible handles (I'm 5'8 and my husband is 6'3"), deep storage basket that is spring loaded for access even when in full recline position, FULL canopy, one hand fold/unfold, and lightweight- just 18 lbs. Plus, it included a full boot for colder weather, which is great! Our 4 month old son currently rides in the Graco Safe Seat in the Snap 'n Go Stroller frame- which he loves! We purchased a jogging stroller for walking, and he does not like to face out at all- we are hoping that as he gets older, he will enjoy facing out, but for now, it's a much happier place for all of us when he can see mommy Plus, I like to see if he is asleep, or to be able to interact with him when he is awake. It's great to be able to flip him around to keep the sun out of his eyes or if it's windy. Plus I like feeling that he's more protected when we are out in public. We found an '05 model online for $219 with free shipping (retails for $449). I called Peg directly to find out if there were any changes to the model from the '05 to the '07 and the only thing different was the fabric pattern (Which, I personally prefer the black and silver in the '05 model to the navy in the '07 model). We are VERY pleased!!!!

We bought a 2004 Venezia in 2005--new in the box, but the previous year's fabric, for $140, at the Baby Depot/Burlington Coat Factory. I had just paid $90 plus $30 shipping on ebay for a used, mint condition Peg Perego Milano, so this new Venezia was the bargain of all time. I had loved the Milano with my first child, and the Venezia was the newer model of this same convertible stroller. I love the fully reclinable seat, handles that flip from stroller to carriage, and the huge, easily accessible basket. Our Venezia even has a kid's snack tray & parent cupholder. The fabric is beautiful and washable, and the canopy is generously sized and very effective. This is a very comfortable stroller for both the baby & parent--you can walk very long distances with it, as the handle is height adjustable, the stroller is sturdy on all terrain, and you can load lots of stuff in the basket. The wheels are not the 'all-terrain' type, but they do well on city streets. It is not easily maneuvarable with one hand. Two other drawbacks are that it is not lightweight, so the 17 or so lbs you have to lift it into or out of your car should be taken into consideration. For me, lifting 13 lbs. or 17 lbs. twice a day is not a big difference. It stands on its own when folded, and it is quite easy to fold. When flat in your trunk, though, it does take up quite a bit of room. I have a wagon, so it's not an issue for me. I think this stroller has staying power from infancy until kids are done with strollers. Having a 2nd backup or lightweight stroller is helpful, but this one can really handle anything from newborn through toddler years. I didn't do the 'snap & go' frame for the infant car seats like everyone else, because I didn't like the idea of buying a stroller frame that I knew would be useless in a few months. I bought the Peg Perego car seat instead, & it snapped right into the Venezia, so I got plenty of mileage out of this stroller even when she was a newborn.

We paid $329 for our PP Venezia.I did a lot of research on strollers before we decided to splurge on the Venezia. We had some odd "requirements" that made this the right decision for us. The biggest one being that my partner has a bad back, and wanted the stroller to lend itself as support for her, without concern of the stroller tipping backwards. The Venezia was hands down the best for this. We also wanted the bar handle rather than the two handles, which limited our options. In addition, we're both on the taller side and the Venezia is relatively good in accommodating that. FYI, when the baby is facing me, I find myself kicking the wheels because of my longer legs. If she's turned outward I don't have that problem. Now that the weather in MA is warming up, we're using the stroller more outside. In my opinion, this stroller doesn't lend itself overly well to bumpy sidewalks, or any terrain that isn't smooth. The steering isn't great, I often can't steer it with one hand without trouble. We do, however, love the huge basket, the ability to recline fully, and the built in boot, that has just been wonderful to have in the cold winter!!For the most part, I'm glad we got the stroller, even though we are now on the hunt for one (or two) new strollers as DD is getting older. We definitely need something built more for the outside and we also need an umbrella stroller.

I have been using the Venezia stroller since October 2003 when my son was born. Overall I have been very happy with it. We live in the city (Chicago) and I call it our second car. We have put some serious miles on this this stroller and it is still ready for more. It is sturdy and still in excellent condition. The only complaint I would have in this area is that I wish the wheels were a little meatier (or air filled). That could make it the perfect stroller. However - it still took most of the city sidewalks with out a problem. My son was in this stroller as a newborn. It fit our Graco carseat no problem. And I LOVE the reversible handle. I could keep an eye on him when needed and change his direction if a cold breeze kicked up. And the included boot was a nice feature. Also loved the full recline for when I took him out without the carseat (and that the footrest could be kept in an upright position). It was just like a pram. Only complaint is that, when the seat is in full recline, it limits the reach of the canopy (which otherwise is awesome). Since I was usually trying to get my son to sleep in the full recline position, this is when I wanted the most coverage. Minor point. Now that my son is 2 1/2 (and gigantic), he still is completely comfortable in this stroller. And the snack tray is great for his toys, snacks and a drink. I am expecting my second this fall, and I have heard that people have used the foot bar on the back as a standing place for toddlers, so we are going to try that. Also - the basket is pretty roomy and accessible (except in full recline). Last complaint - after 2 1/2 years of crackers and whatnot, I really wish the cover could be removed and thrown in the washer. Spot cleaning sometimes just does not seem to do it. And I wish it had a cup holder (I did add one, but it kinda stinks). I believe the newer models do come with one.I got this stroller as a gift, but I believe it was $300+ I think it is worth it. It is the only stroller I own. Light enough to put in the car when we need to and big enough to handle being a primary mode of urban travel. I recommend it!

The Venezia is a great stroller when you want something substantial to "protect" your babe a little more than the lightweights do. One of the main reasons I selected this stroller when my son was born was the abilty to flip the handle to have the baby face you, or to have the baby face out. I thought I would mainly use the facing me option when my son was really little, but I find I still use it from time to time a year later when we're walking into a really brisk wind. The canopy is huge - I can completely sheild his upper body with it. Between the canopy and the boot cover, my son is completely protected from the wind and snow. If only it were waterproof, we wouldn't need any sort of rain cover, but unfortunately the rain does soak through on anything longer than a very short stroll.Because of how well my son can be "sheilded" in, my husband has taken to calling the Venezia, "the battlewagon". It also lives up to this name in weight and size. This is not a light or compact stroller by any means. It is very easy to fold, and I have no problem getting it in and out of the car, but it does take up quite a bit of room in our trunk.Handle height is ok... It's fine for me at 5'8", but my husband (6'3") complains about kicking the wheels if he takes even moderately long strides.
I think the basket is huge - large enough for my Jack Russell Terrier to climb into by himself and ride with my son - one of my favorite features. It doesn't exactly turn on a dime, but steering is comfortable, and I guess I don't expect tight steering on the larger strollers. This is also not the stroller to take off pavement.
