This stroller was given to us brand new as a gift when our second foster daughter came to live with us. She was an infant and her sister was 17 months old, we needed a double stroller! I was very excited to have such a nice (I thought) stroller for them.
Problems started early on. One of the back wheels would not tough the ground, and was bent in. I called PP and they offered to fix it IF I drove it to Orlando (2 hours away). I took it back to Babies R Us and they accepted it with no problem.
The second one we had had the same problem after a few months. And the handle started to break. We took it back to BRU again.
The third one is the one we still have because we have worn out our welcome with BRU. It is IMPOSSIBLE to steer, horrible when the kids are sleeping (one has to sleep in the other child's lap) the basket is not at all reachable even when the seats are upright. The canopies are worthless and fall off all the time.
This thing folds horribly... it's only two steps, sure, but it never locks closed.
The handle doesn't connect well to the stroller, and feels very shaky. This thing does not feel the least bit stable. Even in a mall it's a bear to deal with.
Car seats are supposed to fit it... we had a a peg perego infant seat given to us (we got these kids on fairly short notice, no time to really shop for anything) and even their own car seat didn't fit well. I never used the car seat with the stroller because it never clicked in in either seat, even though it was supposed to in both.
The fabric is nice, and I like that is completely removes. The straps are way too long and even at thirty pounds and two years old, they are still too big on the smallest setting for my youngest child.
The basket it a joke. It is the smallest basket I have ever seen on a stroller. I have umbrella strollers with bigger baskets! I cannot fit a phone book in it (I tried, just to see if it would work because DP off handedly said one day that even a phone book wouldn't fit). What is somewhat neat is that you can pull it out... but this requires three hands- two to depress the buttons on the side and one to pull. But their really isn't any point because you can't store anything anyway. And you can't hang bags from the handles because it makes the horrible steering even worse.
My kids at 34 and 29 pounds... I cannot put them in this stroller anymore, it simply will not steer. I stopped using it months ago... they were probably 28 and 22 pounds... and even then it was a complete nightmare.
I know it's not just a lemon, because this is the third one and all the problems were the same. I don't use this stroller at all anymore and cannot in good conscience even give it away! I have contacted PP about the problems and basically got several "your problem not ours" replies. My girls occasionally play with it, folding both seats down and using it as a wagon for their toys... not so great at that either but at least they have a $400 doll stroller.
I have a Aria side by side that I love, and an old Pliko that is great, so by and large I have been satisfied with PP's offerings. But this thing is horrible. I envy even Cosco tandems!

Pros:
Nice fabric, made in Italy, adjustable height handle
Cons:
Baskets hard to access, if one sleeping they must be in back

The Peg Perego Tender XL Twin Stroller is a great choice for those who need a tandem style stroller. With it's quality Peg Perego construction (one of the few brands remaining that are NOT made in China) and beautiful plush fabric, it is very striking! The aluminum frame makes it relatively lightweight for a tandem twin and the fold is easy. It locks closed automatically (no levers to hook or adjust) and stands on it's own when folded. The back of the front seat hood zips off to reduce bulk and not be in the back seat riders way, or you can leave it on for FULL (to the napper bar) hood coverage! The steering on the Tender is far better than most tandems (but will not compare with a side by side in most cases). Also, in what was I'm sure an effort to improve handling/steering, Peg placed the seats pretty close together, so if you have only one sleeping child, they need to be in the back seat, otherwise if they are reclined in the front, they are in the back seat riders lap! As with most European made/designed strollers, there are no cup or snack holders. The baskets are fairly hard to access (especially the front one where the front seat footrest gets in the way) and are small, but could hold a fair amount of small packages.
Overall, if you need a tandem (which I did for shopping) the Peg Tender is the best of the bunch (and I have owned others).
