I bought a new 2004 MBUD in the Spring of 2005 for $450. I started using it as soon as I got it even though it was several months before my second child was due. We live on a mountain and it was so much easier to push than my Peg Pliko. I have flown with it twice and it is really easy to push with one hand (and I would never have made it alone with both kids without it). You just have to ask them to hand scan it since it won't fit in the x-ray machine. I got the car seat clip and that made it so easy. It pushes great on the beach too.

I bought a 2004 (used) for my two kids, 18 months apart. I can push/steer it one-handed over lots of terrain and it is smooth whether both kids are in it or just one. The kids seem comfy and don't miss the snack bar. The canopy doesn't pull down very far. Sometimes when I'm putting them in, one of the shoulder straps comes unhooked and I have to re-do it. Not a hazard, but annoying. It is heavy, but fit in the back of my Honda Accord (and our Odyssey) no problems and was always worth the effort. We walk a LOT and this stroller made my life so much easier. While I initially balked at the price (I paid about $425 for a 9 month old stroller), it has been worth every penny.

I use this stroller as my "in the garage" walking stroller. We use it practically every day since we walk to school and I also walk for exercise. It's sturdy, extremely easy to manuveur, and has ample storage space. Since my older child is now five, I end up using the extra seat as a luggage cart when we need to take stuff to school, or to unload backpacks/lunchboxes, etc... I walk to school with two friends who have regular strollers. I don't even have to pay attention to obstacles like bumps or gravel, as this thing goes over them without a problem. My friends, on the other hand, have to stop and struggle. There is a nice shade with a peek-through window. I have the rain cover, which works beautifully. I can't say enough about this stroller - it really is incredible!!It's too heavy to pop in and out of the car, and it takes up a lot of space folded. Personally, I prefer to keep a lightweight double in the car. As the kids get older, it's a bit of a challenge to push both of them up a hill, but still better than with my other strollers, by a mile!

The Mountain Buggy Urban Double (MBUD) is a great stroller. Steering on this stroller is effortless because of two front swivel wheels (which can be set as fixed wheels as well). Just push in the direction you want to go and your off! It provides a nice smooth ride, even over rough terrain - a big plus when there's a sleeping baby on board! The Mountain Buggy offers comfortable seating, even for larger children. The stroller can hold a maximum of 120 lbs - that's a lot of kid! Yet is still fits easily through standard doorways. The MBUD is easy to fold and it folds down very compactly. The wheels are easily removable if you need even more space. The locking strap that keeps the stroller closed leaves a lot to be desired. Basically, it's a strap with a snap that is supposed to keep this heavy stroller folded - very lame at best. The MBUD comes equipted with two five point harnesses and appears to be very sturdy in contruction. The sun canopy has a peek a boo window, a nice feature, but the height is very short - taller children will hit their heads and may be uncomfortable. Mountain Buggy sells a taller canopy, but it's seems silly since then you have one useless canopy (what a waste!) The MBUD also has a whole list of accessories that may be purchased seperately, including single and twin carrycots, storm covers, carry bags, buggy boards, carseat clips, extendable handlebars, etc. All these accessories add up and make this already expensive stroller even more expensive. If you are looking for a stroller with some of these options, you may want to look elsewhere, as the MBUD is pretty bare bones. The MBUD is very heavy, about 35 lbs., making it difficult to use as a travel or short trip, in & out of the car stroller. It is more suited for walking then traveling. Additionally, I personally have had mediocre/poor experience with Mountain Buggy Customer Service. I found them to not be very responsive to my problems or concerns. In order to get my issue resolved, it took great diligence on my part in the form of many follow up phone calls and emails - not a great way to keep a customer happy. All in all, I would recommend the Mountain Buggy Urban Double. I have been very pleased with it's performance. Even with it's few set backs, it is definetly a stroller worth looking into if you are in the market for a double that can handle serious terrain or the rough sidewalks of your neighborhood.

I LOVE this stroller!! It was my biggest and best investment for baby #2, and is practically worth it's weight in gold! It is the only thing that allowed me to venture out with two kids 17 months apart. I used this stroller from the day my daughter was born (2003), and still use it today. The kids love it, and it is sturdy enough to hold their combined weight of about 75 lbs. (actually will hold to 100+ according to MB). And it is still SOOOOO easy to push, even with both kids and all their stuff in it. This stroller works great for infants as well. Both seats independently recline, and can go almost flat. Throw a blanket or sheepskin or cozy in there, and an infant will be perfectly happy (mine was). The seats adjust to whatever recline you want (no preset reclines) so as the baby gets a little older, you can sit them up a little bit at a time.The swivel front wheels allow me to manuever pretty much anywhere, so the stroller works for both inside and outside purposes. All 4 wheels actually sit UNDER the stroller, so the width of the stroller is only 29 inches, skinny enough to go through almost any doorway. And the inflatable wheels give a wonderfully smooth ride.This is my only stroller right now. I take it everywhere, since I never know when my son will decide he doesn't want to walk anymore. The downsides are minor compared to how wonderful this stroller is and how easy it is to use. It weighs about 30 pounds, but I have no problems getting it in and out of my SUV. It folds flat but is wide. There is no parent or kid tray, and the baskets on mine are small. (The 2005 version has one basket that goes under both seats, while the 2003 version has 2 baskets, one under each seat.) This stroller is a wonderful stroller and I strongly recommend it anyone looking for a double. It is well worth the money, and is a "baby" product you will get YEARS of use out of.
