Pros: Lightweight
Cons: no way to lock it closed after folding

I bought this on ebay for $100 and have used it several times. It is very lightweight and easy to push and maneuver while running. The front wheel easily comes off to close it flat. There is no parent tray but there is pocket and basket. There is also a window with a flap in the canopy. It does seems to give a little in the folding joint while running. There is a little bounce that I have noticed recently. Not a problem but thought I should mention it. The only thing I don't like is that when it is closed there is no way to lock it closed. It will also not collapse flat with the front wheel on.

Pros: the price
Cons: It IMPLODED with my son in it.

I purchased the Motobecane Jogging Stroller for $99 (retail $350)from a woman on ebay about 18 months ago, when my son was about 1. I received the stroller and immediately had a few problems with it, including the alignment (it kept pulling to one side) and the brake (it kept popping up, e.g., kept coming "un-braked."). I emailed the seller and she promptly sent me a new stroller and arranged for the original one to be picked up. The new one arrived with better alignment and a different brake, not a push down type but a metal rod that locks into place. My husband and I have used the stroller for approximately one year and for the most part, it has been ok. We use it mainly to walk to the park or to the store, and have occasionally used it for running (although advertised as a jogging stroller, the shocks aren't very good and it doesn't seem to "glide" the way other joggers do). The main problems: once again, after a month or so, the alignment got messed up and started pulling to the left and the brake on the stroller stopped working after 6 months (we couldn't lock it into place). Also, folding it is a real pain. Despite these problems, we kept using the stroller because we were too lazy to send it back and we figured we got a good deal and we didn't want to bother the seller again (plus, it has been nearly a year since we received the replacement stroller). Anyway, last night we were out for a walk and just as we were crossing a fairly busy street, the stroller completely collapsed to the ground. I think the right word would be "imploded," or fell in on itself. Luckily, my son was not hurt, just scared. The stroller is completely ruined, not that I would ever use it again. Necessary plastic parts cracked and flew off, and the pin that was supposed to hold the frame in place bent.

I wanted to share this with others because I was very encouraged by the price and advertising of the stroller on ebay, and felt as though I was getting a great deal. Well, the great deal turned out to be the worst baby purchase we made, and the low price is definitely not worth the problems, particularly the last one, that we've had with this product. I hope this helps others in the market for a stroller. Of course, I may have just had the one defective stroller on the market, but given the variety of problems, I doubt it.

Pros: Quick to fold and lightweight
Cons: no shocks, shallow sunshade

We paid $100 from eBay (prolly the same seller as previous reviews). Yes, you get what you pay for as this is a no-frills jogger.

WEIGHT: This jogger is lightweight (18lbs) because it's aluminum, no shocks, and minimal extras. Shocks are heavy and expensive - they don't come on a $100 stroller, folks. But I'll note that when the tires are properly inflated, the whole carriage has enough give and sway for a gravel road or cobblestones. I wouldn't take it on anything rougher, but for that matter I wouldn't jog on anything rougher. Haven't tried mud yet.

FOLDING: My jogger has TWO pins, one on each side, that click securely into place, thus locking the stroller into its unfolded configuration. Incidently, it was difficult to tell how the pins should lock from the instructions - the C-shaped clamps go around the corner of the plastic lever, not the aluminum bar. All three wheels come off in record time - there's a push-lever for the back two wheels, and the front wheel has a quick-release lever. The whole body of the stroller folds flat, and since taking the tires off is quick, this thing stores really easily.

SEAT: The seat doesn't recline. I don't think my kid is the reclining type anyways since he's not a great sleeper. There's some basic padding in the seat pan and the back. It's a somewhat shallow seat pan. I imagine as the kid gets bigger they can rest their feet on the fold-up foot rest over the front tire.

HANDLEBAR: I like the thick foam padding. The height's not adjustable. I'm 5'3, and find the the bar is at my elbow height, so I can bend my arms at a right angle to push the thing.

BRAKES: A basic tether for your downhills. The parking brake is very positive - spring loaded bar that locks both back tires. THere's a brake for the front tire - a classic caliper brake like they have on bikes - it's fairly easy to adjust. And the best part about that front brake is the little red lever that you can unhinge to make installing and uninstalling the wheel easier. When you release the red lever the cable slackens without losing your caliper alignment. The brake cable for the front tire is positioned too close to the stroller handlebar - kind of gets in the way when you wrap your right hand fingers around.

STEERING For $100 you're not going to get a front wheel that swivels/locks. Taking it around the oval track at the highschool is a little challenging at the ends, so I like to jog around the neighborhood where there are more straight-aways. That said, the stroller is well-balanced and light, so I can do a wheelie with one hand to turn a corner or get up on a curb.

SUNSHADE: The canopy is way too shallow. It's got a cute little window so you can see your kid, but the window flap is held shut with a long (and loud) strip of velcro and there's nothing to hold it open - oh for the lack of a simple tab of velcro to hold it open!

POCKETS: A generous pocket behind the seat, and a very nice tray under the stroller.

SETUP: Instructions and packaging leave a lot to be desired. SHipped UPS ground, the stroller box came pretty dinged-up. The box is weak and I guess $100 doesn't buy you any bubble wrap. Still, everything arrived okay. The instructions are a cheap xeroxed few pages with some grainy photos, so you really have to use your common sense.

There's a -lifetime- warranty on this product, so the previous reviewer could still turn in her/his stroller for replacement.

Incidently, the navy blue color is quite dark - It's practically black. My neighbor has the red one, and it's a true bright red. A plus is that the whole cover unsnaps off of the frame in case of disaster. However the material seems pretty repellant; so far I've been able to spot clean and shake out.
