Has served us well., March 3, 2006

Pros: Compact, boot cozy, rain cover,
Cons: Heavy, small canopy, 1 cupholder, small baskets, no tray.

Purchased this one in 2005 at a specialty store. This was our second stroller after the Graco tandem. I did a lot of research and narrowed it down to this stroller, one of the Peg Perego tandems and the Combi twin. This stroller just felt more sturdy and was in our price range. Compact when folded. 1 cupholder that fell off repeatedly. 2 small zippered storage bags on back of hood. 2 small baskets underneath. When pushing it, I found myself kicking the center wheels all of the time. Handles are ergonomic but weren't comfy for me. I have been satisfied overall until recently. My twins are now 18 m.o. and are happier back in the Graco tandem because of the roominess and tray. I do use the Mac RT for walks around the neighborhood but will probably try to sell it at our next garage sale.

Nice little lightweight double, August 23, 2005

Overall Grade   9.00/10  (9)

Pros: Weight, folded size, hoods
Cons: Wheels

This stroller is a nice little lightweight double stroller. It is equivlant to a double Volo, and at 22lbs, (I have the 2003 version with this weight, I think they're heavier now) it's one of the lightest doubles on the market. It folds easily, it has a great push, it has only a little tippyness and the hoods were surprisingly mobile. The only thing I don't like about it is the color, and as I got it on ebay for $50, I can't really complain there either, lol.

This is definatly a sidewalk/mall stroller, though, don't try to push it on gravel or bumpy surfaces because it's just frustrating. The best thing about this is that you can get the kids out to walk, carry the baby and still carry the stroller due to how lightweight it is.

Has been a dud since day one., December 28, 2005

Pros: Light weight & narrow (fits in our narrow elevator)
Cons: Handle snapped, wheels too small and of poor quality.

This has been my worse baby purchase and I have 2 kids. The handles bent, and then broke at 18 months, all wheels wore out in less than 12 mos, the rain cover is poor quality. Wheels are really too small. The larger wheels are a must in any situation other than a mall. We live in NYC and need our stroller daily. This purchase has been a waste of money. Have a single Mac Vouge (no longer made) which has been a reliable workhorse, this double is a piece of garbage.

Cheap product, poor customer service., July 31, 2006

Pros: Fit through standard doorway, lightweight.
Cons: Broke in under two years, terrible customer service.

Purchased a MacLaren double stroller two years ago. Used infrequently, but valued greatly (worked great initially). The plastic connector cracked where the handles meet the frame, so the stroller droops on one side and cannot be pushed.

Emailed MacLaren, they said to send it in. Received phone call that the stroller was damaged beyond repair and they can destroy it or ship it back damaged and I can purchase a new one at 15% off, which incidentally is more expensive than retailers on the web.

Feels like a strategy to get folks to pay more cash for more product. Do a brief search on the web and you will find MANY complaints about MacLaren's customer service.

So, in short: poor product (breaks easily), terrible customer service
