Great Car Seat, Terrible Stroller, October 28, 2008

Overall Grade   3.00/10  (3)

Pros: Easy to fold, parent tray, full recline, big basket
Cons: Bulky, Heavy, Cheap, Noisy, Gets stuck, Hard to steer

As a new mom I really couldn't forsee my needs and I thought a travel system was a good option. Boy was I wrong, I regret getting this every day. The stroller is heavy and bulky, handles well on smooth ground but not at all on sidewalks and such. It has no suspension and the huge front wheels bump into everything. It's very hard to maneuver in small store aisles. It takes up my entire trunk, in fact I have to put it in with the wheels up or it won't fit (I have a Sentra). I was so envious of my friends with their P3's!

After a couple months it started creaking and squeaking, it just feels so cheaply made. I know it won't last through one kid. Also the recline mechanism and the basket drop mechanism get stuck all the time from the beginning. Lately the parent console snaps off when I unfold the stroller.

The canopy seem big but doesn't really cover the sun, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. It also creaks when opening and closing and this wakes my baby. What I do like is the parent console, the size of the basket and how easy it folds.

The car seat is pretty good, heavy, but I like that it has lasted this long because of the higher weight limit. Of course this also means it's a big car seat so it's not so good as an infant carrier. Carrying it with a 9-month-old is nearly imposible. But I don't mind since i don't like my son to spend too much time in it.

I wish I had just gotten the car seat, and not the whole travel system. In the end I had to but 2 more strollers: an umbrella for air travel, and a better quality stroller for everyday use. I'm selling this one as soon as my son outgrows the car seat.

Way too heavy!, December 17, 2006

Pros: Lots of features, nice fabric selection
Cons: It is so heavy, I can't lift it into the back of my car!

Yes, the Quattro Tour is very deluxe and has a smooth ride. It is easy to steer and has tons of amenities, but it is so heavy! Some of them are upwards of 30 pounds! If you can stand to lift it in and out of your car, go for it, otherwise, try the Graco Metrolite.

The stroller to trump all strollers!, June 13, 2007

Pros: It is a smooth ride, and easy to steer.
Cons: It is a bit heavy, but for the features, we dont mind.

We purchased the Graco Quattro in the Milan pattern for $145 at USA Baby. This one has the rubber wheels. We picked this after realizing our passage was too short for me. The Quattro is much smoother for our daughter. The recline lays flat, straight up, or has two in-between settings. The basket is deep, and farther off the ground than our old Passage stroller. The sunshade is also great. Now we can adjust the shade for the baby, and zip closed the window on the top! I wasnt so crazy about the gravity fold, simply because we slip our stroller into our coat closet, but after a couple times of locking it and sliding it in, it was no big deal. It is quite heavy to put in and out of a trunk, but we use ours around home, aside from rare occasions. Because of the gravity fold, it takes less space in a trunk than the smaller Graco strollers. I found that the best thing about this stroller is the height, ease of use, and comfort for the little one. Also, everything on this stroller is made stronger, and appears to be made to last through more abuse.

Pros: fully loaded, big wheels
Cons: huge, heavy, fold down to ground

we got this as a gift, retailed around $230. After using it for the first few months, I started getting back aches from reaching down to the ground and picking up something so big and heavy numerous times each day. We went out and got a Snap and Go after I had to go see a chiropractor! Now it sits in our garage and we only use it when we walk in our neighborhood.

This is a full size stroller with EVERYTHING you can imagine. It functions well and love all the extras (large basket, cup/sunglass holders, etc). However, it is ridiculously huge and weighs a ton. The fact that you need at least 2 arms to pick it up defeats the purpose of having a one hand fold (which works great). It also folds to the ground and does not stand up. I'd recommend getting a frame (like Snap and Go), and then buy your stroller when the baby is ready. That way you can save your $ for later when you are better informed. Plus, new strollers come out every year and your choices may differe from when you buy your stroller during your pregnancy.

Pros: It's safe the carseat clips right into the base.
Cons: The stroller is a little heavy, but not bad.

I have heard that most babies hate going into their car seats. Well my son Stanley LOVES his car seat. I picked Graco b/c of how safe it is, and how easy it is to use. I "test drove" strollers at stores and tired folding them down and Graco to me seemed like the quickest and most easy to fold. The carrier is also very easy to get in and out of the base. My husband has no problem what so ever carrying the base into the store to put into a cart. When I'm out by myself I try parking near a cart so I can pop him into the cart without carrying the carrier into the store. In all I give Graco an A+
