Pros:
Fold/unfold quick, easy, one hand; accepts car seat.
Cons:
When folded takes up more space than some strollers.
|
|
We have used this stroller since 2003 with the birth of our daughter. We chose it for its easy folding (can fold/unfold with the baby in my other arm), its large and easy-access basket, its ability to hold the Graco car seat (easy in and out), its large and fully adjustable canopy, and its cup/snack trays for both parent and child. All of these features have met or exceeded our expectations over the two years we've used the stroller. I still smile at how easy it is to fold/unfold, I love the trays for water and snacks on long stroller trips, the basket holds a ton and is accessible even if the stroller seat is fully reclined, and the canopy does a fantastic job of keeping the sun out of my daughter's eyes (she likes to adjust it herself now!) It is very sturdy, has held up perfectly (with some wear in the fabric in the back/underside of the seat) and we use it on walks all the time since it rides well and my daughter is comfortable in it. So, here's the "but..." The stroller is larger and heavier than the lightweight strollers. The weight has never been an issue for me (I'm 5'6" and get it in and out of our SUV without a problem, even pregnant!), but the size of it folded was a problem only when traveled and rented a car. If we rented a sub-compact, we could fit the stroller in the trunk, but couldn't fit the luggage with it. This may be true of almost any non-umbrella stroller, however. In summary, we love it!

Pros:
Sturdy, easy to manuever, easy to open and collapse
Cons:
I guess the size and weight
|
|
I have the Quattro Tour stroller in the "G Collection" pattern and I couldn't be happier. I can open it and collapse it with one hand and it collapses down onto the wheels so you never have to worry about the fabric touching the ground and getting dirty. It's easy to steer and the big wheels make it really easy to manuever. The cup holders and sunglass holders are very handy and the under-seat basket holds a lot. I especially like that it feel sturdy and solid and rides really smooth. The fabric and the pattern are fun and stylish without being too babyish. It is a full size stroller though, so probably not ideal for anyone who needs to use mass transit or taxis and such. And it does take up most of my trunk in my mid-size sedan. But I have no problem lifting it on my own and I'm only 5'3", 120 lbs. All in all I'd say it's a terrific stroller for the price.

Pros:
This travel systems has great features.
Cons:
The Stroller is bulky in small spaces.
|
|
We own a Quattro tour travel system and we love it! The Car Seat:
The car seat is ranked the highest by BB & Consumer Reports. My daughter is currently 19 Months and we loved the car seat and she did too. We did not have any issues during our use of the seat. We are keeping this car seat/system for future children. The Car seat gets great reviews all of the time so I going to spend more time talking about the stroller. The Stroller:
Consumer Reports ranked this stroller as a best buy in July of 2005. Our DD is 19 months and we have been using this stroller since she was born. The wonderful features (snack tray, parent tray with 2 cup holders, and large basket) on this stroller makes it difficult for me to transition to an umbrella or lighter weight stroller. Let me tell you why this stroller works for me.
1. I live in the suburbs and drive most places I go.
2. I own a SUV so this stroller fits in my trunk.
3. I am 5 feet and the one hand fold makes it easy for me to get DD in/out of the stroller.
4. The storage basket collapses so I can have access while DD is in the full recline position.
5. This stroller works well on our neighborhood walks.
6. It will hold a child up to 50 pounds.
7. It has a comfortable and smooth ride at 19 months DD is willing to take her naps as scheduled if she is in this stroller. Negative:
It is difficult steering around narrow spaces for example, when I am at a department store I use the handicap dressing room so I will have space for the stroller. I have learned to be creative and I am willing to live with minor bulkiness for DD comfort.I am thinking about investing in an umbrella stroller for those short errands but I prefer "The Quattro" for the mall, neighborhood walks, and all day trips. I am giving this travel system top ranking because you get what Graco says you will get from this system. It met all my expectations. I paid $199.99 at BRU for our system.

Pros:
Very smooth ride, easy to steer, lots of stowage space
Cons:
Heavy and huge

We got the Graco Quattro Travel System in Windsor at BRU for about $230. The Snugride part was fine - no problems with it, easy enough to install once you know what you're doing, base is a lifesaver, straps were fine. Baby seemed to be comfortable in it. Altho it did get too heavy to carry once baby got past 15 pounds or so (handle would sag and bow). Since I ended up having a c-section, I didn't use the stroller part for the first two months as I wasn't allowed to lift it! Made traveling by myself with the baby difficult. Since then we've used it enough to have made it worthwhile to purchase, although sometimes I feel like we *should* take it just for that reason. It doesn't fit well in the trunk of our Saturn - we have to put it upside down. Also, pieces have fallen off - the headrest came off when I adjusted the harness straps to a higher position, and CS was no help getting it back on. The parent cupholder bar comes off almost every time I take it out of the trunk (maybe b/c it's upside down). Also the red thing that keeps it from unfolding once it's collapsed came off, and I had to look at a friend's to figure out how to get it back on.Overall it's a good stroller, with cupholder/snack areas for both parent and child, a good size canopy and good size basket underneath, which many pricier brands don't have. But if I were to do it all again, I'd just get the relatively new Graco Snugrider frame for the Snugride and forgo the big stroller. Our smaller Kolcraft (don't know the model name, yard sale) has been very good for quick trips and keeping in the trunk while still having room for groceries.

Pros:
Very cushy, comfy seat, lots of extras
Cons:
HEAVY, WIDE, takes up a lot of space, even when folded

We acquired our Graco in Spain after the airlines lost our stroller on an overseas trip to visit family (I think this one cost around 250 euros from a department store-- the airlines paid for it).
The reason I picked an American brand was I figured it would be easier to get it fixed and also because the Euro model of this stroller is super nice! I have compared it the same stroller here in the States are ours is much, much nicer (why can't Graco make that same model available here???? people always ask me where we got it)1. The fabric on the Euro model is actually real, high quality fabric, not the vinyl stiff stuff that I have seen on the strollers here. It came in a beauiful burgandy (the only other stroller i have seen in this color was a customized Bugaboo)2. Our stroller came with a huge, full-sized canopy that rotates all the way from one side to the other, meaning you can completely block all light. Our daughter takes all her naps in the stroller so that is a great feature.3. The stroller came with an infant bassinet insert. I don't think the US model comes with that, but it is very cushy (kind of like a moses basket that clips into the stroller). My daughter was too old for it, so we'll see if we have another baby if it is useful-- I would imagine so because it would mean you could use the stroller from birth)-- allows a newborn to lie totally flat and protected, like in a pram)4. The wheels are large-- real rubber, like bike tires (again I think that the US model has cheaper wheels- molded plastic)5. The seat is very comfy, a nice straight back that can go completely upright or completely reclined with several settings in bewteen.6. A HUGE basket, makes this stroller great for walking to the grocery store/library/lake, etc.7. A beautiful, padded foot muff which really keeps her toasty. I even use it during her naps at home instead of a blanket. The muff covers the snack tray though, so that is one small con to using it.8. It steers beautifully, very smooth. The handle is on the high side for me (5'). I wish that it was adjustable. The storage compartments in the handle are a nice feature.I really like this stroller for our neighborhood walks-- I take it on an unpaved trail and the wheels are great and the baby is high up off the ground and comfy. I can load the basket up with groceries (no need for bags) or library books. Now, I do NOT use this stroller other than at home in our community (DC suburbs, like a small town). Why? because it is enormous and cumbersomely heavy. I had to purchase a smaller, umbrella stroller for the car and trips. The 2 weeks we had to use this stroller in Europe were miserable-- it often didn't fit into small doorways or even on some narrow sidewalks (cobblestone streets). If you live in an urban area and will be in narrow places or going up and down stairs-- stay away from this stroller! it is a real bear to push up big hills, especially with the basket full-- it probably weighs a good 60-70 lbs when loaded with toddler, groceries, etc.I wish that Graco offered the much nicer Euro model to parents here in the States because it really is a MUCH nicer product than the one they sell here.
