Did not meet my expectations!, August 15, 2006

Pros: Good travel system, very smooth ride, large basket
Cons: Seat does not sit up all the way!

I did tons of research while pregnant, but unfortunately had not yet heard of BBB. (If I had I never would have bought this stroller.) I wanted to get away with one stroller- no Snap n Go, no 15 strollers for me. I actually got the ARIA travel system, which is very similar to Ellipsa. I paid $150-$200 (don't remember exactly) but this price included the infant car seat + base. As a travel system it was excellent. I liked the large basket, easy fold, & how the 2 hoods (of the stroller & car seat) met to protect baby completely from the elements.

However!

Once we stopped using the car seat, I quickly became frustrated with this stroller. It does drive smoothly- indoors or outdoors. The parent tray with cupholders is nice, too. My main complaints are how large & bulky it is- basically takes up my entire trunk (Chevy Impala). More importantly, now that my daughter wants to sit up & see the world- SHE CAN'T! Believe it or not, the most upright seat position is about 3/4 reclined. I can't believe Evenflo overlooked that major design flaw.

Additionally, the strap is only a 3 point harness (not 5 pt.) which doesn't fit well at all- it's basically holding her thighs instead of her waist.

My last complaint is that it got worn out very quickly- its about 1 year old & pieces of plastic stick out from inside the piping on the hood- which I think is a safety hazard, besides looking terrible. This stroller basically worked great as a glorified and very heavy Snap N Go. I would never buy an Evenflo stroller again!

Great Walking Stroller, April 3, 2006

Pros: Canopy....Parent tray
Cons: Heavy

I received this stroller as a gift. I think this is a great walking stroller. It is incredibly heavy...almost 30lbs. I could never left this stroller in and out of a car. However, I keep this stroller in the garage for walks. I love taking the baby out for long walks in the stroller. The seat is pretty easy to recline. It has a great canopy that completely encloses the baby. However, the best thing about the stroller are all of the compartments. I have a zip pouch for my keys. I have a compartment for the pacifer. He has a tray for his bottle. I have dual cup holders for when my husband joins us on the walk. This stroller is a parents delight. It is heavy so I feel like I get a workout pushing it about. This stroller is not suitable for travel. This stroller really isn't suitable for mall use either in my opinoin. It is very large and bulky. If you can afford multiple strollers then this is a great stroller for walking in the neighborhood. However, for errands and such I have Zooper Waltz which is much much lighter. If you can only afford one stroller. I would recommend that you consider buying a different stroller.

Overall a Great Travel System!, September 21, 2005

Pros: Stability, safety, features, z shaped handle, steering
Cons: Honestly nothing

We purchased the Evenflo Ellipsa LX travel system in Tattersall print from Babies R Us. It was $199.99 and includes the stroller, carrier, and car seat base. We tested this travel system thoroughly before deciding to purchase it. The one-hand steering works very well and the wheels turn smoothly even on a tight radius. It's also a very comfortable stroller to push. The infant carrier is the new Evenflo Embrace with the 5 point harness system. It's easy to use, and comes out of the stroller easily enough. Yet at the same time, it's not so easy that it will just pop out by itself. In fact, my husband lifted the carrier while still locked into place in the stroller and he was able to actually lift the stroller at the same time, and still the carrier stayed tightly locked into place! Folding is a cinch and can be done with one hand. You just press the button and the stroller folds. Yet unlike some strollers, the stroller tray does not hit the ground. It folds in easily. The stroller is also a cinch to set back up and clicks into place easily. The Z shaped handle on the carrier makes carrying it easier on the wrist, without all that twisting and turning action. The carrier is also not extremely heavy. As for features, this travel system is packed with them- one hand easy grip seat recline, full coverage canopy with viewing window, dishwasher safe removable tray, cup holders and storage tray, an oversized storage basket, and top-activated brakes. Overall, we are very satisfied with our purchase.

Pros: the carseat that snaps into it
Cons: heavy, huge

i have a pretty big trunk and with my trunk empty i can BARELY fit this stroller into it. the idea of it is nice with the cup holder and all, but it fell flat! i would never reommend this stroller to anyone. it is not user friendly and its the heaviest stroler i ever picked up. its heavier than my double jogging stroller. dont buy it!

Build Quality Issues, October 17, 2006

Pros: Car-Seat
Cons: Strollers

I bot this as a travel system. Following the recommendations of almost everyone I had bought a snug ride car seat. When I received this stroller as a gift. I installed the car-seat in my husband's car and quickly switched the car seat to my car. I found this car seat to be more user friendly than the Graco in sterms of adjusting the harness traps. I also felt that the pillow offered slightly better head support although I still needed to use the kiddopotmus snuggler for quite some time.

Now for the stroller, it has a great parent tray and a great child's tray. It is freaking heavy. I can't lift it. I also think it is very bulky even when folded. I have had this stroller for a year and I have just retired it. The recline no longer works properly. In mid stroll my son will fall backwards as the set collapses into full recline. Also, I was never able to smoothly recline the seat if my son was in the stroller. The recline mechanism on this stroller is cheap and sucks.

The harness is poor as the previous review mentioned.

I also found pushing this stroller to be difficult. It gave me a workhout which I didn't mind but if you are looking for a stroller that is easy to push this isn't it.

In short, I recommend the car seat but I do not recommend the stroller.
