Pros:
Tri-fold for easy carrying and storage
Cons:
Basket not as accessible or as large as others
|
|
I have been really happy with the Combi Flash. I was using a borrowed Snap and Go but it took up too much room in the car. It was also very awkward when folded up, so getting it in and out of the car was not as easy as I would have liked. I love the Combi tri-fold. I think this makes it unique among the car seat carriers, so if space is a problem, I think this is the one to get.

I purchased this item from Buy Buy Baby in Springfield, Virginia. I did not want an entire travel system, due to the weight, and the salesman convinced me to buy the Flash because it is extremely easy to fold up and very light. It has a nice carry strap that allows you to fling the stroller over your shoulder (but honestly, I hardly ever use this feature. Usually I just fold the stroller up until it fits in my trunk, where it stays until the next time I use it.) I don't remember what I paid, but I had a 20% off coupon, so I'm sure it was less than $50.Another nice feature of the Flash is it works with most carseat brands. I'm using a Graco Snugride and the colors work well together. In fact, several people have commented that it looks like a matched set instead of two separate pieces from two different companies. At the time of the purchase, I had not yet had a baby, and I did not fully understand how important storage actually is. Although the basket looked useable in the store, in actuality the opening will be blocked by your carseat lying on top of it. I can barely fit a changing pad and a loose diaper in the basket when the carseat is on, let alone a whole diaper bag or packages bought at the mall.Another irritation are the front wheels... they tend to lock up frequently so I can't steer the stroller the way I want to. Also, if I am using just one hand to push (because I have to hold the stuff I should have been able to put in the basket), the stroller veers off, making it difficult to go completely straight.Despite the negative things I have said in this review, I still think the Flash would be a good purchase for a new mom who doesn't know what she really needs just yet. The reasonable cost and portability/versatil ity are very strong pluses in my opinion. The stroller will get you through at least 6 months, and by then you will be more experienced and have a better idea of what features are important to you.

Pros:
Folds up easily, lightweight, use with other car seats
Cons:
Storage is inaccesible when infant seat is snapped in.
|
|
We borrowed an Evenflo Portabout infant seat and it snapped right in place. Here is what I think:Pros: Folds and unfolds easily and is so lightweight. I can throw it over my sholder and get it in and out the trunk with ease.Cons: Storage basket is hard to get to when the seat is snapped in. You can reach small things, but otherwise it is hard to get to. You have to snap the front wheels in place for it to fold up right. This bothered my DH, but not me.Neutral: The parent pockets are okay for small things like keys and things. The bottle holders will hold a baby bottle or a bottle of water.I received this as a gift and was happy with it overall. I would probably try to find it used if I were to buy it for myself, but I would get it again. I don't have much experience with the Kolcraft, but this one worked well for us.

Pros:
frame folds easily & compactly, combi seat securely attached
Cons:
the basket underneath is inaccessible with the car seat on,
|
|
We have used this a lot. We bought it because we got the combi tyro car seat and it clicks on very securely, more so than onto other frames. THe frame folds twice very easily and then has a shoulder strap so can have the frame on my shoulder, carry my daughter in the car seat out to the car and still have one hand free to lock and open doors etc without putting her down outside (important as she was born in January with the snow). However the basket underneath is extremely difficult to use, and I view the kolcraft one with envy when I see it. Also the attachments on the frame for parental use are junk.. the first time we put a water bottle in it, it started to detach. Only use for light things such as keys or burp cloths.
