Pros: So easy to convert between uses
Cons: Expensive, many things sold seperately

We LOVE our Chariot Cougar 1. We were debating about whether to spend the money on this when we started looking for a bike trailer. We found a used one for just $300, but having used it, we gladly would have paid the $500 or so it would have cost new.

We have the bike attachment, the stroller attachments, and the jogging and jogging brake attachments. The mauverability with the stroller wheels is better than our compact stroller, and it just glides like a dream. We love it as a bike trailer and feel that it is so safe with suspension and a metal "cage" that would protect DS in case of a rollover - not that it would be easy to rollover given the great trailer hitch.

If it weren't so big when folded, we would likely use this as our only stroller. I did manage to fit it in my tiny 2-door car with my son, so it is possible, but I had to take the wheels off to accomplish this (quick release, so not bad, just not as easy as a normal stroller). My parents love this stroller along with the looks it gets when they take DS out.

It is litterally so fast to convert it. We were debating about the Burley, but when we read about the Burley needing a screwdriver to convert, it really turned us off. With this, the stroller wheels store on the unit, so you can tow it somewhere on your bike, and then take it inside as a stroller with literally a minute or less of work for conversion.

Don't debate, buy it!

A great stroller usable for all your athletic endeavors., June 10, 2005

Pros: Smooth movement, multifunctional without giving anything up.
Cons: Bulky when folded, too big for indoor use.

The Chariot Cougar is a master of all trades, when it comes to taking your child with you for athletic endeavors. The most distinctive feature of this or any Chariot stroller is how smoothly it converts from stroller to jogging stroller to bike trailer -- a few other carriers offer these options, but a Chariot can also be used for hiking or even for cross-country skiing.

I have used our Cougar for the first three options. The conversions are easy, and when it is performing any given function, it performs as well as a stroller made for only that function. Its large rear wheels are built much like road bike wheels, and turn smoothly; the handle is the right height for both me and my husband; the placement of the handle allows you to run without kicking the back of the stroller; and you have the option of enclosing the stroller with either a wind/sun screen or a bug screen, depending on weather conditions. The shocks work well to protect your child from bumps in the road, and my son loves to ride in it whether we are walking, running, or biking.

I can find only two drawbacks for this stroller: in walking stroller mode, it is larger than most strollers, and may not fit well indoors. For shopping, you may wish to use a different stroller. (However, the Cougar turns so well that it is usable indoors, as long as the aisles are wide enough to accomodate it.) The other drawback is that it is bulky when folded; it folds flat, but does not fold lengthwise, which means it can lie flat in the trunk of your car but cannot be folded to free up space on a crowded bus.

Pros: Easy to use, lots of features
Cons: price, doesn't help me run faster

We were given this as a gift with the jog stroller wheel and the attachment for a bike. We haven't tried the bike attachment yet because our son is too small, but we LOVE the jog stroller function. We had to purchase the padded insert to secure him in the seat because he's only 3 months old (we've actually been using it since he was less than 2 months old) but he likes to ride in it and look around. We even used it in a local 5K race and had a great time!
