Stay away from the Rocket, September 9, 2005

Pros: stylish, comfy for my child, 3 real tires
Cons: not reliable, too big, canapy too small

I thought I had found the most awesome stroller and did love it for the first month, then it started to fall apart. The wheel lock broke. Two months later another part broke. Keep in mind I have only used it for four months! The stroller is very stylish and looks good but that is about it. If you have a smaller car forget about it fitting into the trunk. Thank goodness we have a big car. While the company is good about replacing parts, I am very worried something else will break. For $300 bucks, nothing should go wrong. I am currently begging the store I bought it from to give me my money back. Hopefully they will.

Pros: Features of the MBUS, more upscale look
Cons: More plastic parts that MBUS

I have just received the Bumbleride Rocket (months before the baby ) I had done research ahead of time after babysitting for friends and trying all of their strollers. I knew I needed a three wheeled, swivel wheel, air filled tire stroller. I wanted it to be car seat compatible and fully recline so that an infant could use it. I had decided on the Mountain Buggy Urban Single months in advance. When I found this stroller I was confused! I do not live near any dealers so I finally ordered the Bumbleride to make a comparison.

Advantages of the Bumbleride: -Cost: I paid $290 with S&H. That is $110 less than MBUS, plus the accessories for the MBUS would have totaled an extra $75; Bumbleride has softer fabrics with more cushioning, yet still waterproof and completely removable for cleaning (MBUS cannot be removed as I understand it); It is MUCH more attractive than the MBUS- The Bumbleride looks like a much more expensive stroller (my husband's first comment was "that is much cooler than the MB"); The Bumbleride is slightly smaller than the MBUS (folds slightly smaller also); It includes the bumper bar and the car seat bar (must be bought separately with the MBUS); It also ncludes an attractive footmuff that would be useful in cooler climates or for winter newborns; The recline feature can be operated with one hand (2 for MBUS)

Disadvantages of the Bumbleride: Weighs 25 lbs (MBUS weighs 22); Bumbleride has more plastic parts- notably the lock that holds the stroller in the locked position when folded and the hinge for the sun shade. I am concerned that these may wear out, but they are both easily replaced by any novice. The company reports that their turn around time for replacement parts is a week, so I am willing to take the chance. And as a friend pointed out, most of the other strollers on the market have almost all plastic parts.

Other info: -For those of you just starting your research, the three wheel air filled tire with a swivel option is not only important for those who do off-roading. With this type of stroller I am able to push the stroller one handed and walk the dog at the same time. It makes dodging slower walkers and going up and down curbs a breeze. I live in Charleston, SC, a historic city with very bumpy roads and lots of tourists, and I cannot imagine using any other type of stroller for our evening walks or weekend shopping trips. -I am able to fit the stroller into my mid size car trunk (or in my front seat, when folded). -The Graco Snugride fits the bar quite well. It doesn't exactly lock in, but it would be completely secure with the strap and even without the strap it did not fall out with the stroller turned almost on its side. -The jogging stroller rain guard from Babies R US is a perfect fit.

My all-around favorite!, March 23, 2006

Pros: Smooth ride, elevated seat, comfortable to push, huge basket
Cons: Weight, size when folded

I paid $300 for my 2005 Bumbleride Rocket last summer at a local baby store.

At the time, I intended to buy it as an all-terrain stroller for walking the local nature trails and fairgrounds. But I fell in love with it and it's become my all-around stroller, in spite of its weight and size. The basket is always accessible (even in full recline) making it an awesome shopping stroller. And yes, it's bigger than an umbrella, but it's smaller than many SBS twins and shorter than tandem twins, so I justified it and found that I like it in the mall. Maneuvers well and it seems like it's really comfy - my daughter has never complained!

Unfolds fairly easily, although it is not a one-handed fold or unfold. I love having the swivel wheel with the option of locking it for "off-road" use.

It does take up a lot of space when folded. I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer and it covers almost the entire cargo area when laid down folded. But I don't have any problems getting it in and out of the truck.

Overall, it's my favorite. :D I can't say enough good things about the Rocket!

Pros: Sun Shade pulls all the way down, very smooth to steer
Cons: straps are too big, bulky when folded

This is worth the money if you are looking for a stylish 3 wheel stroller and don't feel like shelling out 600 bucks. I did a lot of research on this also. We got the red one. It took forever to get here so make sure that you get it from a great company. The straps are too big. We had to put a knot in them. Our daughter is small and long. I may try the snuggler like someone else suggested. Other than that and the bulky part of folding...there is nothing else like this. Everyone sees it and thinks it is a more expensive stroller like Bugaboo. The ride is pretty smooth considering it doesn't have the suspension of the more expensive 3 wheelers. It also comes with a pump and a cup holder. The basket is huge and there is no bar to block putting in that big diaper bag! Huge plus! It turns corners very easy. So nice that you can lock the front wheel for a jog or undo for walking. Most jogging stroller's don't allow it. We also ended up buying a cheaper umbrella stroller for our car. The sun shade is amazing too. It will fold all the way down to the bar that sits in front of the baby. So if it is super sunny then i can shade her easily. We also got a foot muff that goes up to the bar also and looks great. Great buy. Highly recommended!

Good looking stroller, dream to push but kinda BIG!, May 15, 2007

Pros: Easy to push, comfy, large basket, large moveable sunshade
Cons: does not fold compactly, too large harness for small infant

After a lot of research, we chose this stroller for it's ability to go off roading, work as a light jogging stroller and grow with our baby. It really lives up to that. It is so easy to push and steer and I can do it with one hand (and while walking 4 dogs!). It is a smooth ride for the baby even on cracked sidewalks or grass. It really does steer well in the mall and small aisles esp. for its size. The wheel lock did break (the front wheel keeps locking on us) but the company resonded the same day and is mailing me a new part (I just called them). My biggest complaint is that when you fold it down it is very heavy and large and does not have a handle so it is hard to wrestle into the SUV (which you need to have enough room for this stroller!) We love the color (green) and the washable fabric. It works well with our Graco Snugride (and they now sell a carseat cover to make it "match"). I also like the full recline which with the boot and footrest up makes a "bed" for a small baby. It comes with a boot, car seat adaptor, air pump for tires. There is also a large pocket on the back of the stroller for keys and such and a cupholder (small). The basket is roomy and easy to get to. We paid $270 for this 2006 model in the green color and we love it overall. I am buying a second smaller stroller for errands but I can't wait to really get out camping with this stroller.
