worth the price, for city folk, January 23, 2007

Pros: handling and comfort
Cons: space occupied in a small city apartment

I really hesitated plunking down the money for this stroller. But since we live in a city with a good public transit system (most subway stops have elevators), don't drive much (maybe once a month), and walk everywhere, we were able to justify the purchase of the Bugaboo.

It has my child sitting up higher than most other strollers would. It is very easy to wheel around, handling all city surfaces easily. My son still falls asleep very easily in it and can stay asleep for at least an hour--the 180-degree incline is great.

The rain hood is a great accessory, too. And the basket underneath holds a surprisingly large amount of groceries! (I didn't get the Bugaboo footmuff--I thought it wasn't good value. As my child grows bigger I preferred something that provided a bit more room at the feet.)

I knew it would be a big item, and thus can't really complain that it doesn't fold easily for when our days' adventures are done. That would make this the absolutely perfect stroller! But as is, it occupies much less space than a jogging stroller (our second choice, when we were still trying to pick a stroller) would.

I highly recommend this to parents who live in cities who don't do a lot of getting in and out of vehicles and walk everywhere!

Love it, but best for walking in a city, September 21, 2006

Pros: one finger handling, style, comfort, stability, bassinet
Cons: kind of a pain for suburban in and out of car errands

We bought this stroller when we lived in Chicago where my son was born this winter. I LOVED it. we would walk miles every day. he slept so comfortably in the bassinet, was so snuggly in there with blankets, that it was a blessing for me to be able to take him out and get him to sleep. it was great for walking everywhere, and we kept it in the vestibule of our apartment (we were on ground floor). well, we moved this summer to The Woodlands, TX, the essence of suburbia. Because it is Texas in the summer, we haven't been doing too much walking and the stroller is a bit of a pain when i have a number of errands at different places and have to just run in and out. i end up just taking the baby in or out of the carrier and leaving the stroller sometimes. not a big deal at all, but if you have to lug stuff besides the baby, you will have to take the 30 seconds to put the stroller together. as i write this, i changed the rating because it is not a big deal to spend 30 seconds and to complain about this makes me seem so lazy!

The best city stroller ever!, October 24, 2005

Pros: Comfortable, telescopic handlebar, rear facing, big basket
Cons: 2-piece fold, fleece gets dirty easily (but is washable)

When compared w/ the Quinny Buzz (which we had and sold), the Cameleon is far superior... comfortable, easy to open and close (though the 2-part fold's not the best), shock absorbers create an amazingly smooth ride over bumpy NYC sidewalks and curb, and most importantly, rear and forward facing options allow me to spend quality time w/ DB when we're out . This is definitely not a good travel stroller, but the best for around town.

Love, love, love this stroller, May 11, 2007

Pros: easy to handle, great suspension, looks very cool
Cons: bulky to drive with if you've got a small car

We got this as a present, so didn't have to pay for it (...!) and it's been wonderful. If I had to buy it, I would because it's a great investment and will last for a few years/few children. We live in an urban area of Dallas and it's been great to take on a stroll or to go shopping with. I like the fact that "feels" substantial and not flimsy or lightweight like the other cheaper strollers. It's amazingly easy to just fold it up and put it in the trunk. It took a bit of practice (do it inside while the baby is napping!) but once you get the hang of it, it really takes about two seconds to just hold the button and fold it up/unfold it, flip it open - the trick is to make sure you put your foot between the two axles so that they don't lock up . I'm 5 ft tall and not exactly strong, but this is really easy.

We use it on shopping trips with our infant car seat - the Peg Perego Prima Viaggio - and you can get the adapters for these for about $40. Saves having to lug the two separate bits around.

I love the parasol to keep the sun out of the baby's face, I loved the bassinet when DD was tiny, I love the seat now that she can stretch out, and we can hang toys on the bar to keep her occupied. I love that it's going to last through her toddler years I love that you can have the seat facing forwards or backwards. I love, love, love it.

Only thing I would say is that it does take up room in the car. But any stroller does, I suppose.

What a rock'n stroller!!!, August 3, 2007

Pros: Ride, comfort, design, color choices
Cons: Brake handle can snap back at your hand

This stroller rocks. I didn't expect to see a difference in my son... thought we spent all that money for ourselves... WRONG! Our son is much more engaged in what's going on, where we are walking, who's pushing him, etc. He's a happy baby, who now seems to look forward to rides in the stroller. Functions well, compact fairly well. Ride is SUPERIOR! When disenaging the brake, the brake handle snaps back at the handlebar and can catch your hand if you're not aware. Cost is relative and definitely worth it to us and our son. Some reviews say it's good mostly in urban environments... I say if you have a decent amount of stroller usage regardless of where... this stroller excels.
